Lecture Sunday July 21st at Summit Learning Center

Freelance writers and photographers, Ren and Helen Davis will be speaking of “The Legacy of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC)” at the Summit Learning Center on July 21st at 1 p.m.  A second lecture will take place at the Cascade Lake Day Use Shelter at 7 p.m.

Ren and Helen Davis have co-authored five guidebooks and more than 100 magazine and newspaper articles. They will be lecturing about their most recent book:Our Mark on This Land: A Guide to the Legacy of the Civilian Conservation Corps in America’s Parks (McDonald and Woodward Publishing, 2011), which culminates a decade of research in state and national archives and collections, visits to more than 95 parks across the country, and correspondence with noted experts on the history of the CCC.

Join us at the Summit Learning Center at 1 p.m. or Cascade Lake Day Use Shelter at 7 p.m. for a lively and informative lecture about the CCC work in state and national parks.
