Port of Orcas, Eastsound Sewer District Commissioner slots still open
A special three day filing period will be held in accordance with RCW 29A.24.171 for the offices listed below. Filings will be accepted on June 10, 11 and 12, 2009 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Candidate filings received after 4:30 Friday, June 12 will not be accepted.
The special three-day filing period is being held because no candidate filings were received during the regular filing period for the offices listed. Information about filing for the offices listed below may be obtained by contacting the Elections Department at 55 Second St, PO Box 638, Friday Harbor, WA 98250, by phone at (360) 378-3357, or by e-mail: elections@co.san-juan.wa.us. THE ONLY OFFICES FOR WHICH FILINGS WILL BE ACCEPTED ARE:

Port of Orcas – Commissioner 2
San Juan County Cemetery District #2 (Stuart Island) – Commissioner, Position #1
San Juan County Cemetery District #2 (Stuart Island) – Commissioner, Position #2
San Juan County Cemetery District #2 (Stuart Island) – Commissioner, Position #3
Cape San Juan Water District – Commissioner, Position #2
Cattle Point Water District – Commissioner #2
Eastsound Sewer and Water District – Commissioner #3
Fisherman Bay Sewer District – Commissioner #3
Candidate filings for the above positions only, can be made in person, by mail or online. If there is still a void in candidacy after the special three-day filing period, the office will not appear on the November 3, 2009 General Election ballot and the current incumbent will remain in office.
