— from Cole Sisson —
Doe Bay Wine Company has announced that it will be opening a Bottle Shop this August in Eastsound Square. The shop will feature a world class selection of wine, beer, and cider; and offer samples and tasting flights from producers both local and around the world. Along with traditional selections there will be a Northwest-focused growler filling station with rotating taps featuring breweries from ‘Bend to Bellingham.’ In addition, the couple will host weekly in-store tastings and a series of educational, as well as ‘just for fun’, classes.
“We are thrilled to open a store in the community where I was raised”, says co-owner of Doe Bay Wine Company, Cole Sisson. “Having had the opportunity to travel around the world to vineyards and breweries, and to work as a sommelier with some of its most respected beverage professionals, I can’t express how exciting it is to return home to share these discoveries.”
Doe Bay Wine Company opened as a wine consulting and sommelier business in 2016. They will continue to offer a range of services outside the shop, including in-home events, private sommelier services, and wine cellar procurement. Their monthly wine and beer clubs, highlighting rare and interesting offerings from the Northwest and around the World, will be available locally for pick up at the shop or shipped
Stephanie Lees, co-owner, had this to say, “The moment I set foot on this island I knew it’s where I wanted to be. We were delighted to find such a perfect location for our business. I can’t wait to begin teaching classes and producing events for and with the diverse and outstanding community that is Orcas Island.”
