Due to a propulsion control failure caused by an electrical issue onboard the M/V Elwha, the vessel is currently out of service. The boat is enroute to Anacortes where technicians plan to repair the problem.
Because of the service disruption, customers will experience delays on the Anacortes/San Juans route. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding.

Are the ferries insufficiently maintained? Should not there be an extra, non-scheduled ferry available for replacing boats that fall out of service?
The economic impact on the Islands this weekend will be significant.
The community is due more information. Answers and plans to avoid a repetition of this, the worst summer service in a generation.
Who is running the railroad??
Ed,
