22-006885 Trespassing 07:16:21 09/21/22
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of trespassing. Two individuals were issued trespass notices and the incident was documented.

22-006897 Structure Fire 07:59:23 09/21/22
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a structure fire. Someone was living in a shed that burned and killed a dog. No crime is suspected and the information was given to the San Juan County Fire Marshal.

22-006886 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 09:49:57 09/21/22
An Orcas Island Deputy investigated what appeared to be a crossbow arrow in the yard of a citizen. No crime was committed, and an incident report was authored.

22-006888 Domestic Dispute or Assault 10:23:30 09/21/22
A San Juan Deputy responded to a structure fire. While on scene, the Deputy was advised of a domestic occurring elsewhere on the property. One individual was arrested for an out of county warrant and was booked into jail pending transportation.

A woman contacted San Juan County Sheriff’s Office to report she had lost her coin purse/wallet. She described the wallet as a knit wallet with autumn colors, yellow, orange and red.

22-006893 Theft 12:17:20 09/21/22
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a theft from a business in Friday Harbor. A beach chair had been stolen from the property. There is currently no suspect information or workable leads. A report was completed.

22-006898 Found Property 16:54:54 09/21/22
A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of found property. Various cards had been found on a street in Friday Harbor. The cards were entered into evidence as found property. A report was completed.

San Juan Deputies took a report of a missing person. The missing person’s information was entered into the statewide database and agencies of the person’s likely destinations were notified.

22-006904 Noise Complaint /not dogs 05:41:11 09/22/22
A Lopez Deputy took a report of a mysterious high-pitched nocturnal squeal. The source of the squeal is believed to be an alarm or cooling system.

22-006912 Litter/Pollution/Public Health 08:57:04 09/22/22
An Orcas Island Deputy authored an incident report for a subject dumping personal trash in a county trash can at the Village Green.

22-006914 Accident-NonInj 10:10:03 09/22/22
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a non-injury collision on San Juan Valley Rd. A driver struck a mailbox and the PBT reading on scene was 0.309. They were arrested for DUI and hit and run
with property damage.

A Deputy responded to a call regarding a dog at large. It was discovered that the dog had been reported at large multiple times prior. Enforcement options are being considered.

22-006931 Citizen Assist 17:25:25 09/22/22
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a citizen assist. An elderly citizen had lost their way home. With the assistance of SJI EMS, we were able to locate their residence and return the citizen home safely.

22-006940 Welfare Check 21:17:47 09/22/22
A San Juan Deputy was dispatched to a request for a welfare check. The caller advised an elderly man left a voicemail on his phone asking for help. Deputies spoke with the man and learned he had not called the reporting party. The incident was documented for future reference.

22-006951 Domestic Dispute or Assault 09:27:15 09/23/22
An Orcas Island Deputy responded to the 100 block of North Beach Rd. for a domestic dispute. All parties were contacted, and it was determined no crime was committed. An incident report was authored.

22-006959 Animal at Large 12:37:55 09/23/22
A found dog was turned over to a Lopez Deputy. The owner was soon located.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24
22-006978 Noise Complaint /not dogs 02:54:55 09/24/22
Lopez Deputies were advised of an on-going mechanical noise emanating from a village grocery store. A Deputy had previously contacted the store manager, who has been working to diagnose and fix the issue.

An Orcas Island Deputy investigated a Vandalism on Michael Ln. A report was authored.

22-006988 Theft 12:41:35 09/24/22
A Lopez resident reported the theft of a battery from a moored vessel.

22-006989 Theft 13:02:45 09/24/22
A Lopez resident reported a kayak missing from the beach at Aleck Bay.

A Deputy on San Juan Island took custody of a found cell phone. The owner was located, and they came to the Sheriff’s Office to pick up their cell phone. An informational report was completed.

22-007004 Unwanted Person 22:08:42 09/24/22
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a male behaving erratically in the 1000 block of Spring St. On contact the male was found to be a known drug user with mental health issues. Stolen property was seized from his possession and returned to the owner.

Deputies on Orcas Island responded to a domestic dispute. No crime had been committed. The involved parties separated for the night.

22-007011 Accident-Injury, Traffic 10:36:16 09/25/22
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a two-vehicle collision. The investigation found the at fault driver was following too closely to a vehicle that had to stop for a trailer in front of them. The at fault driver was issued infractions.

22-007014 Accident-HitRun 12:34:06 09/25/22
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of hit and run. The reporting party did not want the incident investigated but wanted to tell the Sheriff’s Office to do our job. The reporting party wanted the suspect written for no insurance when seen.

22-007016 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 14:49:53 09/25/22
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of someone being followed by another vehicle. The reporting party stated they think they eventually lost them and an “air tag” kept pinging their phone. A license plate number was not obtained, but a description was. A report was completed.

A Deputy was contacted in reference to a Civil Problem. The person believed that they might have been exposed to a hazard material situation. The person was referred to other agencies. Information report taken.

A Deputy was contacted in reference to Found Property. An item was turned into the Deputy. The item was entered into evidence. Report taken.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a theft. The incident occurred in another jurisdiction but the reporting party requested we keep a look out for their stolen phone here.

A Deputy on Orcas responded to a vehicle theft call near Doe Bay. The vehicle was located at the ferry landing and returned to the owner. The case is ongoing.

22-007051 Theft 12:22:15 09/27/22
A Lopez Island Deputy took a report of stolen mail. The items stolen totaled approximately $80.00. The investigation is ongoing.

22-007055 Theft 13:05:18 09/27/22
A Deputy was contacted in reference to a Theft in the San Juan Island area. The person reported fencing had been removed from the property. No suspect information at this time. Report taken.

Lopez Deputies checked an unsecured home under construction for a felony suspect known to be in the area.
