A Deputy arrested a person in Friday Harbor for an active misdemeanor warrant for Fail to Appear on a DUI charge. The person was booked into jail without incident awaiting a next day hearing. Report made.

An Orcas woman reported a fraud involving a person stating he was from Amazon. A report was taken.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a local business for a report of trespassing. The store manager wanted to trespass a known individual for making employees uncomfortable. The Deputy located the individual and they were served with the trespass warning letter. A report was completed.

San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a domestic. No crime was committed and the two parties separated for the night.

An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a domestic dispute on the 1200 block of Palisades Dr. An investigation was conducted, and it was determined no crime was committed. An incident report was authored.
22-008327 Animal Bite 17:49:51 11/18/22
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of an animal bite. The victim was attempting to stop his dog and another unknown dog fighting and was bit. The incident was documented.
22-008328 Accident-Injury, Traffic 17:58:57 11/18/22
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of an accident-injury. The driver was arrested for DUI and was also issued an infraction for driving with wheels off roadway. The driver stated that they swerved to miss a deer, but it was apparent that they drove straight at a curve in the roadway.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Threats call in the Friday Harbor area. The Deputy spoke with the person receiving the threats. The threats did not meet the criminal threshold. The person was provided advice and other options. Report taken.

An Orcas Island Deputy responded to Orion Ln. for a domestic dispute. An investigation was conducted, and it was determined no crime was committed. An incident report was authored.

A Deputy was contacted via the phone about a possible Fraud. The person was reporting that someone was attempting to extort money from them. There was currently no loss but and information report was taken.

A Deputy was contacted in reference to Found Property. An item was turned into the Sheriff’s Office. The item was entered into evidence as Found Property. Report taken.

A Deputy on San Juan Island was dispatched to a walk in report of a burglary from a storage unit. Entry was made from an adjoining unit where the wall was kicked in and property was taken. No leads at this time.

A Lopez Deputy responded when a chicken attempted an escape while it’s owner was busy gardening. The chicken made it out onto Ferry Road, but was quickly recovered by the owner.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a citizen assist call. A Lopez citizen called to report a loose dog encounter that occurred the previous day. A report was taken.

A Deputy was dispatched to a call of a prowler. An unknown suspect was seen looking into windows of a condo unit. The suspect is unknown at this time.

An Orcas Island Deputy authored a courtesy report for a minor property damage accident on private property at Rosario Resort.

Deputies on San Juan Island responded to a report of suspicious activity. Upon arrival it was discovered there had been a roll over accident. The driver lost control due to icy conditions and overcorrecting. All passengers were seen by EMS and released on scene. A report was completed

A San Juan Deputy took a report of Fraud. The caller advised that a person made unauthorized purchases while grocery shopping for them. They advised they did not wish to pursue criminal charges in the matter. The incident was documented.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Missing Person in the San Juan Island area. The Deputy contacted the person calling. They reported a family member had been missing for over a day. Steps taken to attempt to locate the missing person. Person returned home on his own. Report taken.

A Lopez resident reported the theft of a kayak and trespassing along a trail in front of his home.

Deputies on San Juan conducted a welfare check on an individual. After multiple unsuccessful attempts contacting the person and strange circumstances, a supervisor granted permission to make entry. After entry was made, the individual was found to be alive and well. A report was completed.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Vandalism in the Friday Harbor area. The person was reporting some damage to mailboxes. The mailboxes are not currently used. No suspect information at this time. Report taken.
22-008386 Fraud 16:15:50 11/21/22
A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of a fraud. The unknown suspects posed as “Geek Squad” and accessed the victim’s computer along with bank account information and was able to withdraw a large sum of money. No suspects or workable leads at this time.

A Deputy on Orcas Island was dispatched to citizen assist call where a non-custodial parent was concerned about the housing for their child. It was determined that the child had sufficient housing.

22-008392 Welfare Check 10:19:54 11/22/22
A Deputy was dispatched to a Welfare Check in the San Juan Island area. The Deputy contacted the person calling who was concerned about a person in a boat on the lake. The person was contacted and came to shore. The person advised they were ok and they went to their residence.

A Deputy on Orcas Island was dispatched to a animal at large call. A dog was retrieved and brought to the animal shelter. The owner was contacted and given a warning for dog at large.
