San Juan Deputies responded to the area of the Ferry landing for a domestic. It turned out to be verbal only and both parties were separated and allowed to calm down.

A Deputy on San Juan Island was dispatched to a report of fraudulent activity. The investigation is ongoing.
23-008641 Parking Problem 15:33:24 11/01/23
A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a parking problem. The owners were contacted, and the incident was documented.
23-008642 Abandoned Vehicle 16:43:22 11/01/23
A Deputy on Orcas Island issued a notice of infraction for littering, abandoned vehicle.
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 2
23-008649 Threats 11:39:55 11/02/23
A Deputy was contacted about Threats in the San Juan Island area. The person stated they had received phone calls from someone threatening to repossess an item. Person calling does not live in county. Report taken.
23-008657 Assault – Aggravated 17:33:41 11/02/23
A Lopez Deputy responded when a vehicle on a ferry bumped into a ferry worker, ran over a cone, and sped onto Lopez Island. The matter is under investigation.
23-008658 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 18:45:52 11/02/23
A law enforcement contact on Orcas Island led to the arrest of a person for driving under the influence. A Drug Recognition Expert evaluation was completed and the subject was booked into San Juan County Jail.
23-008661 Found Property 22:33:10 11/02/23
A Deputy on Orcas Island received some found property. The owner was not able to be located. The property was booked into evidence for safe keeping.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 3
23-008675 CPR ALS 11:13:43 11/03/23
Deputies from Orcas Island responded to a CPR in progress call on the water south of Waldron Island. The victim did not survive.
23-008678 Agency Assistance 13:44:48 11/03/23
A Deputy was contacted about an Agency Assist. The agency was requesting a person be picked up for an evaluation. The person was contacted and transported to the ER for evaluation. Report taken.
23-008684 Trespassing 15:50:10 11/03/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island was dispatched to a report of attempted shoplifting at a local grocery store. The suspect was identified and served with a trespass later.
23-008687 Sick or Injured Animal 16:58:50 11/03/23
A Lopez Deputy responded to a deceased animal call. The matter is under investigation.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 4
23-008693 Unwanted Person 00:15:48 11/04/23
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to an unwanted person call. While enroute, the suspect was driving away from the scene. Contact was made and the driver was found to be impaired. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence and booked into San Juan County Jail.
23-008694 Mental Health 00:38:24 11/04/23
A Lopez Deputy responded when an individual experiencing a mental health crisis threw a chair through a glass door. The individual made self-harming comments and was taken into custody and transported to the hospital.
23-008696 Welfare Check 09:58:07 11/04/23
A Deputy was dispatched to a Welfare Check in the Friday Harbor area. The person being checked on was discovered deceased. Report taken.
23-008704 Malicious Mischief 12:48:47 11/04/23
A Lopez resident reported damage to their lawn and a sign after an unknown vehicle failed to make a turn on Port Stanley Rd.
23-008707 Boating Problem 15:25:21 11/04/23
Deputies responded to a report of crab pots that were interfering with the operations of WSF into the Orcas Ferry Terminal. A marine response was conducted and the commercial crab pots were removed.

A Lopez Deputy responded when an upset individual broke a window on their house. A report was taken.
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 5
23-008720 Area Check 01:04:35 11/05/23
I was dispatched to a report of several males that appeared intoxicated, possibly attempting to enter motor vehicles on First Street, next to the courthouse. Deputy Norton and I arrived on scene, and
I observed a male enter a red sedan parked near the Grange on First Street.
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 6
23-008731 Welfare Check 07:57:42 11/06/23
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a welfare check involving a juvenile. The juvenile was missing from his home. An extensive search effort commenced. Juvenile was later located in Seattle.
23-008732 DUI 08:19:56 11/06/23
An investigation of DUI resulted in an arrest of a Friday Harbor man. He was transported to the Sheriff’s Office where a court ordered blood draw was performed by EMS and he was subsequently booked into jail pending a hearing with a judge.
23-008738 Assault – Body Force 13:07:20 11/06/23
Deputies on San Juan Island investigated a report of an assault. After speaking with involved parties, there was not sufficient evidence to believe that a crime had been committed. A report was completed.
23-008744 Litter/Pollution/Public Health 16:20:19 11/06/23
A misguided landlord dumped their former tenants’ belongings at an unacceptable location on Lopez Island.
23-008749 Noise Complaint /not dogs 19:58:13 11/06/23
I was parked outside of 49 Spruce Street. From the street I could hear loud amplified music, either from a television or sound machine. I could hear it intermittently for the 10 minutes that I was in the area. I could tell the noise was coming from the trailer on the east side of the property.
