A abandoned bicycle was turned in on Orcas Island. The bicycle was logged into evidence.

23-003040 Lost Property 09:07:10 05/03/23
An Orcas Island Deputy took a report of a lost credit/debit card.

23-003048 Juvenile Problem 12:03:52 05/03/23
A Deputy responded to a potential assault incident between two students at a school on Orcas. A report was completed and juvenile services was notified.

23-003053 Theft 16:31:15 05/03/23
A Deputy took a report of a theft of a laptop from the Eastsound area. Potential leads are being investigated. The case continues.

THURSDAY, MAY 4
23-003065 Agency Assistance 06:39:36 05/04/23
A San Juan Deputy took a third-party report of abuse. The victim was contacted and advised they did not wish for any investigation to ensue at this time.

FRIDAY, MAY 5
23-003082 Accident-NonInj 07:46:51 05/05/23
An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a solo vehicle accident on the 2100 block of Olga Rd. The driver was contacted and after an investigation it was determined there were no injuries and weather conditions were a factor in the accident. A report was authored.

23-003105 Court Order Violation 19:27:53 05/05/23
Deputies on San Juan Island were dispatched to a report of an order violation. A report was taken and forwarded to the court.

SATURDAY, MAY 6
23-003114 Theft 10:36:59 05/06/23
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a theft complaint. A juvenile was identified as the suspect. The incident was referred to the San Juan County Prosecutor’s Office.

23-003117 Vehicle Theft 12:12:12 05/06/23
A San Juan Deputy took a report of a stolen golf cart. A Motor Vehicle Theft Report was completed by the owner.

23-003137 Domestic Dispute or Assault 21:56:55 05/06/23
Lopez Island Deputies were dispatched to a domestic disturbance. The suspect fled the scene on foot prior to arrival of the officers. The suspect’s dogs led Deputies to his location. He was found under an overturned skiff on the beach and apprehended without incident.

SUNDAY, MAY 7
23-003142 Accident-NonInj 10:51:49 05/07/23
A Lopez Deputy investigated two vehicle collision. Information was exchanged and a report was completed.

23-003144 Abandoned Vehicle 12:34:52 05/07/23
A Lopez resident called about an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle belonged to a neighbor’s relative, and the parties will get in contact.

23-003147 Fraud 13:23:56 05/07/23
A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a fraud call. An Island resident lost a large sum of money in a fraudulent Facebook Marketplace transaction. The investigation is ongoing.

23-003160 Threats 23:01:26 05/07/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island was dispatched to a report of threats. A subject was located and taken into custody for harassment.

MONDAY, MAY 8
23-003166 Welfare Check 11:14:21 05/08/23
A Lopez resident requested a welfare check on their neighbor. All was well.

TUESDAY, MAY 9
23-003196 Agency Assistance 12:31:00 05/09/23
A Deputy on Orcas was contacted by the public high school. The principal had found a controlled substance in a students backpack. The school took disciplinary action and then turned over the substance to the Sheriff’s Office. A report was taken and will be forwarded onto Juvenile Services.

23-003198 Fraud 14:16:17 05/09/23
A Deputy received a report of a counterfeit $100 bill at King’s Market. The owner thinks he received the bill in a series of sales he made on Craigslist. The bill was taken and booked into evidence.

23-003202 Fraud 15:10:20 05/09/23
A Deputy on San Juan island received a report of a fraud. The victim reported that her computer was taken over and she talked to someone claiming to be “MSN Security”. The Deputy called the number and talked with someone who was clearly trying to scam people.
