24-002964 Found Property 11:33:00 05/22/24
A selfie stick was turned into the Sheriff’s Office after being found by a resident. The stick was booked into the property room.
24-002965 Unwanted Person 13:01:24 05/22/24
A Deputy responded to a report of an unwanted person at a local daycare center on Orcas Island that refused to leave. The subject later left, was contacted and arrested for criminal trespass 1st degree. Illicit drugs were found on his person during the arrest. The subject was booked into jail.
24-002975 DUI 21:32:42 05/22/24
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a DUI on an incoming ferry. A driver of a vehicle was found to be asleep at the wheel with a cup of whiskey and a beer in the cup holders. They were arrested for physical control, obstructing a law enforcement office and resisting arrest.
THURSDAY, MAY 23
24-002986 Theft 13:59:15 05/23/24
A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of a theft from a store in town. The store had video footage and identified the suspect. The suspect was located and was arrested for theft 3rd and the property was recovered.
24-002989 Agency Assistance 14:29:03 05/23/24
The Sheriff’s Office received a referral from the Adult Protective Services on a case that is currently being investigated.

A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of a possible financial exploitation. The Deputy contact the possible victim and determined that they were not being taken advantage of. This case is closed.
FRIDAY, MAY 24
24-003002 Citizen Assist 08:45:04 05/24/24
A Lopez resident reported a domestic incident that is currently not criminal. A report was completed and other resources were recommended.
24-003006 Theft 11:51:39 05/24/24
An Orcas Island Deputy was dispatched to a theft report in the Eastsound area. The reporting party advised that their inflatable stand up paddle board had been stolen from the public access beach near the Eastsound County Dock at Madrona Point. The incident was documented.
24-003009 Theft 13:39:39 05/24/24
An Orcas Island Deputy was dispatched to a theft call at a local business. The suspect was identified via video surveillance. The investigation is ongoing.
24-003013 Boating Problem 15:35:16 05/24/24
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to Roche Harbor to assist the US Coast Guard with a possible intoxicated vessel operator. A report was completed.

A Deputy on Orcas responded to a trespass call. There are no suspects at this time and cameras will be put in place on the property for further incidents.
24-003028 Malicious Mischief 11:41:39 05/25/24
A Deputy was dispatched to a malicious Mischief in the San Juan Island area. The Deputy located that the parking lot at one of the parks had been vandalized. Someone had painted slogans on the parking lot. Report taken.
SUNDAY, MAY 26
24-003043 Accident-NonInj 08:19:36 05/26/24
A Deputy on Orcas responded to an accident non-injury call near map corner. The driver was found at their residence and explained they had swerved to miss a deer. They were contacting tow and taking care of the communication with the owner of the damaged fence.
24-003052 Sick or Injured Animal 17:06:05 05/26/24
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a cat stuck in wire fencing. With the help of Friday Harbor APS and a Veterinarian, the feral cat was sedated enough to get it unstuck from the fence. APS then took custody of the cat and transported it for an evaluation. A report was completed.
MONDAY, MAY 27
24-003065 Controlled Substance Problem 11:35:10 05/27/24
Drug paraphernalia was turned into the Sheriff’s Office. The glass pipe was marked for destruction and booked into the property room.
24-003066 Boating Problem 12:14:39 05/27/24
A Center Island resident reported being ejected from their boat by a large wake from a larger passing boat. No injuries were reported.
24-003069 Domestic Dispute or Assault 17:21:36 05/27/24
Deputies on Orcas Island responded to a domestic dispute. No crime had been committed. The responsible Deputy authored a report for informational purposes.
TUESDAY, MAY 28
24-003084 Fraud 14:46:53 05/28/24
A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a fraud call at a local business. An unknown individual tried to purchase an item with a cashiers check that was written for more than the item’s value. The incident was documented, the business experienced no monetary loss.
24-003086 Harassment 16:29:02 05/28/24
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a harassment complaint. The accused were issued trespass warning letters at the request of the complainant.
24-003090 DUI 18:35:27 05/28/24
A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of a vehicle collision. The Deputy determined that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and was booked into the San Juan County Jail.
