An Orcas Island Deputy served a subject with a trespass warning letter from the Washington State Ferry system after the subject caused a disturbance on the Tillikum.
22-003086 Found Property 12:11:17 05/18/22
A Deputy responded to a report of a found wallet in Friday Harbor. The owner was not able to be located for the wallet and it was entered into the Property Room before the Deputy’s shift per policy. Report made.
22-003087 Animal at Large 12:34:14 05/18/22
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of two at large dogs. The dogs were found to have killed two chickens and their owner was contacted. The victim did not wish to pursue charges and the owner was warned for dog at large.
22-003090 Welfare Check 13:20:36 05/18/22
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a welfare check. Although no crime was committed, the report was forwarded to Child Protective Services for follow up.
22-003092 Boating Problem 13:44:24 05/18/22
A boat became loose in Fisherman Bay during extreme wind conditions. A coast guard helicopter was deployed. Island Marine Center staff secured the adrift vessel and ferried the people onboard back to the safety of land.

A Lopez Deputy responded to report of vandalism. Several spots in the Lopez Skate Park were tagged with graffiti. The investigation is ongoing.

Deputies on Orcas responded to an unwanted person at an Eastsound business. The person was located and given a Trespass Warning Letter, and informed that if they went into the business again, they would be arrested for Trespassing.
22-003102 Agency Assistance 19:45:14 05/18/22
A San Juan Deputy was advised that a fugitive had fled to Friday Harbor to avoid prosecution. The suspect was later located and booked into jail to await extradition.

A San Juan Deputy contacted a subject with a felony warrant out of California. The subject was booked into jail pending extradition.
22-003110 Theft 09:42:15 05/19/22
An Orcas Island Deputy investigated the theft of a dog. A suspect was identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
22-003112 Threats 12:25:06 05/19/22
An Orcas Island Deputy issued a Trespass Warning Letter to a subject for the Orcas Island Library.
22-003117 Found Property 15:06:24 05/19/22
A Deputy responded to a report of a found ring on the road in Friday Harbor. The reporting party found the ring on 5-10-22. An owner was unable to be identified and the ring was entered into the property room per policy. Report made.

A Deputy on Orcas responded to a fraud callback. The reporting party stated that they had sent a check to a third party that they found out was scam. They contacted their bank right away and nothing was lost. A report was taken.

A San Juan Deputy was approached by a citizen who reported a possible case of vandalism. The incident was documented and no suspect information is currently known.

An Orcas Island Deputy completed a found property report for property left at the Sheriff’s substation.
22-003145 Weapons Offense 15:14:11 05/20/22
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a weapons offense. A subject displayed a knife in a threatening manner. The subject was arrested for weapons apparently capable and resisting arrest.
22-003149 Trespassing 16:38:41 05/20/22
A Deputy on Orcas responded to an unwanted person at an Eastsound business. The person was found and given a No Trespass Warning Letter, and advised if they went into the business again, they would be arrested for Trespassing. A report was taken.
22-003152 Burglary – Residential 17:35:07 05/20/22
A Deputy on Orcas took a residential burglary call near Eastsound. After investigation there was no evidence found of a burglary.

22-003163 Domestic Dispute or Assault 07:32:37 05/21/22
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a domestic in Friday Harbor. One person was arrested for assault in the fourth degree – DV and booked into jail.

An Orcas Deputy responded to an unattended death in Eastsound. An investigation was conducted and a report written.
22-003168 Litter/Pollution/Public Health 11:29:33 05/21/22
An Orcas Island Deputy investigated a call of littering on the 100 block of Shaner Armstrong Ln. A report was authored.
22-003184 Accident-Injury, Traffic 18:40:08 05/21/22
San Juan Deputies responded to a rollover collision on Cattle Point Rd. One vehicle was involved; the single occupant was uninjured and showed no signs of impairment. The driver advised they swerved to avoid an animal in the road.

Deputies on San Juan Island responded to a residence, a citizen wanted to report someone in their house bothering them. Upon arrival it was discovered that no crime had been committed. An informational report was completed.

A Lopez Deputy moved a van camping couple to an appropriate overnight parking area.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a vehicle collision. The collision was not reportable due to the location. Information will be exchanged between parties.
22-003224 Wanted Person 12:45:59 05/23/22
A wanted person turned themselves in to Deputies on Orcas. They were booked and transported over to Friday Harbor.
22-003226 Malicious Mischief 14:17:18 05/23/22
The Lopez school reported the theft and destruction of one-track hurdle.
TUESDAY, MAY 24
22-003256 Accident-NonInj 15:18:08 05/24/22
A Deputy responded to a two vehicle minor accident with no injuries reported. Both vehicles had minor damage, were still drivable, and a state collision report was completed. An exchange of information form was provided to both drivers.
22-003260 Accident-Injury, Traffic 21:55:09 05/24/22
Deputies on San Juan Island responded to a single vehicle accident. The driver was subsequently arrested for DUI and was issued multiple infractions. A report was completed.
