This deputy stopped a vehicle in the area of Marguerite Place and within the Town of Friday Harbor; the driver was not wearing her safety belt. Driver was issued a Traffic Infraction for failing to wear safety belt.

A Deputy was dispatched to a civil disagreement. The reporting party was advised to get a restraining order if he would like the Sheriff’s Office to intervene.

SJC Sheriff Deputies and US Coast Guard responded to a vessel in distress on the South End of Lopez. Upon arrival it was determined the vessel had taken on too much water to be rendered safe. Vessel assist towed the vessel and US Coast Guard transported the occupants to a safe location.

This deputy responded to the 400 block Price Street reference and abandoned vehicle. Vehicle was ticketed for parking in excess of 72 hours and tagged for impound.

A Friday Harbor resident reported what they felt was illegal dumping in a town trash bin. The suspect was located. He had dumped a 5 gallon bucket of recycling into the town recycling bin. He was advised to take his recycling to the county dump in the future.

A Lopez deputy was dispatched for a single vehicle collision on Mud Bay Road. An investigation showed the driver ran off the road due to a combination of speed and alcohol consumption. The driver was arrested and cited for driving under the influence.

A Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 400 block of Spring Street for failing to wear safety belt. Driver had been previously warned for the same violation on April of this year. Driver was issued a traffic infraction for fail to wear safety belt.

A 3 year old child was found walking on a street. A check of the neighborhood located the distraught father, who thought his daughter was sleeping in the house. The child was re-united with the father.

A SJC Sheriff Deputy gave a female a courtesy ride to an Eastsound location. The Deputy had prior knowledge the female had alcohol restrictions. The female had an odor of intoxicants. She refused to provide a sample of her breath which violated her probation restriction.

A SJC Sheriff Deputy attempted a traffic stop on Orcas Island. The driver fled the vehicle. The deputy was able to identify the driver. The vehicle was impounded. The driver was later contacted and issued citations for Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer and Failure to Obey a Police Officer.

Lopez deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover collision on Mud Bay Road. Driver and passenger were uninjured and the investigation showed the collision was caused by wet road conditions.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a hit and run in the 300 block of Argyle Ave. The victim reported that someone backed into his parked vehicle. The Deputy obtained video of the incident. This case is still under investigation.

Reporting deputy was dispatched to the San Juan Island area in reference to a Dog Bite. The reporting deputy arrived and contacted the dog owner. Information was taken and the owner was advised to quarantine his dog. The victim was contacted. No enforcement action at this time.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a dog that was found at large by the reporting party. The Deputy observed that the older female black lab did not have any tags or anything that would have indicated who the owner was. The dog was taken to the animal shelter.

A Friday Harbor resident was found in the bushes after driving his scooter off the roadway in the area of 8500 Roche Harbor Rd. in Friday Harbor. The driver of the scooter was found to be driving under the influence and arrested.
