A Deputy on Orcas Island was dispatched to a report of a bicyclist failing to obey a flagger. A report was taken.

A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of some online harassment. The Deputy did not see any criminal law violations. This report is for information only.

A Deputy on Orcas Island was dispatched to a report of threats. The event was civil in nature and a trespass letter was issued.

San Juan Deputies responded to a report of an order violation. One individual was arrested for violating a domestic violence no-contact order and another individual was arrested for an out of county warrant. Both were booked into jail.

A citizen in Eastsound brought in a found license plate. The license plate was identified through registration and the company was contacted. The plate was later reunited with the vehicle it belonged to.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a welfare check. An intoxicated individual was laying down on the side of a gravel road. The individual was uninjured and was provided a ride home. Adult protective services were contacted.
23-003483 Domestic Dispute or Assault 18:37:10 05/17/23
Deputies on San Juan Island responded to a verbal domestic incident in Friday Harbor. After an investigation, it was determined that a current no-contact order had been violated. One party was arrested and booked into jail for an order violation- domestic violence.

Lopez Island Deputies were dispatched to a possible domestic disturbance. The incident was determined to be civil in nature and no crime had been committed. A report was taken.
THURSDAY, MAY 18
23-003495 Domestic Dispute or Assault 10:22:18 05/18/23
Deputies responded to a report of a domestic that took place the night before, at the end of North Beach Road. The female half was put in touch with Safe San Juans and also given a ride off island to a family cabin. The investigation is ongoing.

23-003533 Theft 11:38:06 05/19/23
A Deputy was contacted about a Theft. The person reported an item had been taken. No suspects at this time. Report taken.
23-003556 Found Property 20:12:32 05/19/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island was dispatched to a report of a found wallet. The wallet was booked into the evidence room as found property.
SATURDAY, MAY 20
23-003564 Vehicle Prowl 08:39:52 05/20/23
A Deputy was dispatched to a Vehicle Prowl in the Friday Harbor area. The person reported a vehicle that was parked in their driveway had been entered. Nothing of value seems to be missing at this time. A suspect was identified and contacted. Report taken.
23-003572 Fraud 10:53:17 05/20/23
A San Juan Deputy took a report of a fraud attempt. The suspect identity is unknown and the victim sent no money and disclosed no account information. They were advised of steps to protect their identity and the incident was documented in a report.
23-003579 Court Order Violation 13:34:23 05/20/23
A Deputy was dispatched to an Order Violation in the San Juan Island area. The Deputy arrived to make contact with the person reporting the incident. Another person violated the court order in the presence. That person was arrested and booked for Obstructing Law Enforcement.

A Deputy on Orcas responded to a theft complaint in the Rosario area. The reporting party wanted it documented that some reading glasses had been stolen out of their mail box. There are no leads at this time and a report was taken.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a citizen assist. A Lopez citizen disclosed information concerning a potential crime that took place on Lopez Island and San Juan Island. The matter is under investigation.
SUNDAY, MAY 21
23-003609 Weapon Safekeeping 08:33:21 05/21/23
A Deputy was contacted about Safekeeping. The person had a relative pass away and they had 2 firearms they wish to turn over to the Sheriff’s office to be destroyed. The firearms were picked up and entered into evidence to be destroyed. Report taken.
23-003617 Medical Emergency 13:23:37 05/21/23
A Lopez Deputy and EMS responded to a mental health related call. Resources were offered for a proper provider of care.
23-003626 Civil Problem 17:11:32 05/21/23
A Deputy on San Juan spoke with a citizen who wanted to report a former roommate for damaging their carpet. They also wanted to report unauthorized purchases on their card. The individual did not want to pursue criminal charges, they just wanted a “paper trail.” A report was completed.
23-003632 DUI 19:11:49 05/21/23
Deputies on San Juan Island responded to a report of a suspected DUI driver onboard a Washington State Ferry. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was impaired. The driver was arrested for DUI and booked into the San Juan County Jail.
MONDAY, MAY 22
23-003638 Accident-NonInj 09:46:50 05/22/23
A report was made at the Sheriff’s Office of an accident which took place the night before on Pickets Lane at South Beach. The reporting party was attempting to pass a van in the middle of the road and struck the driver’s side mirror.

A silver iPhone was found behind the Mason’s Hall and turned into the Sheriff’s Office. The phone was booked into the property room.

A Deputy on San Juan Island was dispatched to a report of a non injury accident. One driver was issued infraction for failure to yield to a motor vehicle and no insurance.

A Deputy on Orcas responded to a Vandalism call near Eastsound. The reporting party just wanted an informational report taken about damage to their vehicle.
23-003659 Trauma BLS 15:59:08 05/22/23
Deputies on San Juan Island were dispatched to a report of a vehicle versus bicycle accident. It appeared the accident was due to the bicyclist trying to pass on the right as the vehicle was turning. The bicyclist was transported from the scene by EMS.

A hit and run report was filed at the Sheriff’s Office. Sometime during the day on on 05/22/2023 a vehicle backed into a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee while it was parked in front of Serendipity Book Store doing damage to the front bumper.
23-003690 Trespassing 16:08:44 05/23/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of an ongoing trespassing issue. The homeowners wished to trespass two individuals from their property. The individuals were contacted and were each served with a trespass warning letter. A report was completed.

Deputies on San Juan Island responded to a report of citizen dispute. An individual had been following another person around in their vehicle. The victim came to the Sheriff’s Office to report the incident. The victim did not wish to pursue criminal charges. Safe San Juans was contacted.
