A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a harassment call. An informational report was taken.
23-001886 Found Property 13:44:46 03/22/23
A San Juan Deputy recovered two bags with tools from the side of the road. No owner information was available; the items were placed into evidence as found property.
23-001892 Citizen Dispute 15:52:13 03/22/23
Deputies responded to the Eastsound area on a reported citizen dispute. A landlord was reportedly interfering with the tenants’ efforts to leave. The situation was mitigated, and the parties agreed to be civil. There is an investigation ongoing as to property withheld.
23-001894 Accident-NonInj 18:07:34 03/22/23
A Deputy on San Juan responded to a two-vehicle accident. A vehicle was driving southwest on Spring St, when another vehicle backed out of a parking space in front of Kings Market, striking the passing vehicle. The driver who was reversing was issued an infraction for improper backing.
THURSDAY, MARCH 23
23-001898 Accident-HitRun 08:35:51 03/23/23
A Deputy was contacted about a Hit and Run in the San Juan Island area. The caller reported that the incident happened earlier in the month. The incident had already been cleaned up. Caller wanted the incident documented.
23-001899 Agency Assistance 09:14:38 03/23/23
A Detective on San Juan Island received a CPS referral. CPS conducted an initial interview and found the allegations were unfounded. A report for informational purposes was completed.
23-001905 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 12:23:34 03/23/23
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of suspicious packages. The items were collected and placed into evidence. This investigation is ongoing.
23-001906 Prowler 12:31:12 03/23/23
A Lopez resident made a report of a prowler on his property. This event occurred during the early morning hours.
23-001907 Fraud 12:42:44 03/23/23
A Deputy was contacted about a Fraud. The caller advised they had been contacted by another agency about a vehicle registered in their name. They did not own the boat trailer and did not know how it got registered in their name. Informational report taken.
23-001912 Fraud 15:04:04 03/23/23
A Deputy was dispatched to a Fraud in the Friday Harbor area. The person stated they received a call from a government agency stating they were suspected of fraud. The agent had the person download an ‘app” to their phone which gave the agent access to the phone. No loss at this time.

A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a sex offense. An initial report was taken, follow up required.
23-001918 Found Property 16:24:58 03/23/23
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a found handgun located in a hotel room after the guest checked out. The gun was secured and entered into evidence, and the owner was contacted.
23-001921 Domestic Dispute or Assault 17:20:42 03/23/23
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a domestic. Responding Deputies concluded that the incident was verbal only and the incident was documented.
23-001923 Fraud 18:58:02 03/23/23
A Deputy was on foot in Eastsound when a local business made him aware of a counterfeit bill provided by a customer. The customer was talked to and details of the transfer are being investigated.
23-001924 Welfare Check 19:09:59 03/23/23
A San Juan Deputy responded to a request for a welfare check of an individual. The person was found to be under the influence of alcohol in violation of a court order but refused all offers of assistance. The information was forwarded to the court probation officer.
23-001925 Threats 19:36:01 03/23/23
San Juan Deputy responded to a report of threats from a tenant. The emails did not meet the criminal criteria and the incident was documented.
23-001927 Court Order Violation 22:31:31 03/23/23
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of an order violation. It was determined to be unenforceable due to the wording of the order and the incident was documented.
FRIDAY, MARCH 24
23-001934 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 10:46:29 03/24/23
A Lopez resident reported suspicious activity by former employees of a local contractor who had worked on their home. A report was completed and linked to other activity from the same people.
23-001937 Court Order Violation 11:07:45 03/24/23
A Deputy was dispatched to an Order Violation in the Friday Harbor area. The Deputy arrived and contacted the people involved. The incident did not rise to an Order Violation. Report taken.
23-001938 VIN Inspection 11:14:46 03/24/23
A Lopez Deputy reviewed several DOL records for a property owner attempting to clean up their land.
23-001941 Found Property 12:02:59 03/24/23
A bicycle was found in Eastsound. It was collected and stored in the property room at the Orcas Substation. The serial # was run and it was not reported stolen.
23-001943 Mental Health 12:13:59 03/24/23
An Orcas Deputy responded to the substation regarding a juvenile in a mental crisis. A resolution was found.
SATURDAY, MARCH 25
23-001972 Juvenile Problem 18:05:30 03/25/23
Deputies responded to a juvenile problem in Eastsound. A juvenile subject had left his home against his mother’s wishes. The juvenile was located and returned home after an interview.
23-001973 Found Property 18:51:01 03/25/23
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of found property. The property owner was located and the property was returned.
23-001974 Traffic Hazard 19:35:37 03/25/23
An off duty Deputy called in to report an erratic driver on Orcas Island traveling from the ferry towards Eastsound. Dispatch informed the on duty Deputy, who was able to locate and initiate a stop. The driver was issued an infraction for negligent driving in the 2nd degree.
SUNDAY, MARCH 26

A small amount of drugs were found at the entrance to Mt. Grant and were turned over to the Sheriff’s Office for destruction.
23-001986 Theft 13:44:57 03/26/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island was dispatched to a report of a theft. There were no witnesses to the event. A report was taken.
23-001996 CPR ALS 17:33:18 03/26/23
Deputies on San Juan along with Fire and EMS responded to a CPR in progress call. The victim was found unconscious, not breathing, and had no pulse. The patient was flown off island for more advanced care. A report was completed.
MONDAY, MARCH 27
23-002008 Citizen Assist 09:56:22 03/27/23
A citizen came into the Sheriff’s Office to report problems with their spouse. No crime was determined and I spoke at length about services that could help them.
23-002009 Trespassing 10:56:57 03/27/23
An individual was given a Trespass Warning Letter for a local Eastsound business.
23-002022 Welfare Check 16:53:57 03/27/23
Deputies on San Juan Island responded to a welfare check of a juvenile. The Deputies were welcomed into the residence and were shown around the house; they saw that the child had shelter, food, water, and was appropriately clothed. A report was completed.
23-002026 Domestic Dispute or Assault 18:24:52 03/27/23
Deputies on San Juan Island were dispatched to a report of a domestic incident. The incident was verbal only and the parties agreed to separate.
TUESDAY, MARCH 28
23-002032 Aircraft Problem 05:39:07 03/28/23
At about 05:39 am San Juan County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Lopez Island Fire & EMS personnel were dispatched to a possible aircraft down near the airport. No evidence of a crash was located during the search of the area.
23-002035 Malicious Mischief 07:54:34 03/28/23
A report of vandalism was taken in Friday Harbor. A flat tire and key marks on a car prompted an investigation which is currently underway.
23-002036 Civil Problem 08:36:33 03/28/23
A Deputy on Orcas was dispatched to a civil issue between two residents in Eastsound. After the investigation was completed the reporting party just wanted the incidence documented. A report was written.
23-002046 Citizen Dispute 13:22:42 03/28/23
Deputies on Orcas responded to a citizen dispute. After an investigation was completed there was no crime committed and a report was written for informational purposes.
