An Orcas Island Deputy responded to an animal sick call at a local business. The Deputy contacted the dog owner and was made aware that the 16-year-old dog had an upcoming medical appointment for a benign lipoma that ruptured.
25-001377 Weapon Safekeeping 16:23:20 03/12/25
An Orcas Island Deputy helped a concerned citizen understand the process with the Sheriff’s Office procedures on safekeeping of firearms and ammunition.

An Orcas Island Deputy authored a report for a local citizen who experienced financial fraud. The report from the Sheriff’s Office will help the citizen dispute the erroneous charges and document the incident.

An Orcas Island Deputy assisted Peace Island Medical Center by conducting a welfare check on an individual’s dogs that were left home alone. The individual was admitted into the hospital and had been away from home for more than 24 hours. The Sheriff’s Office was able to care for the two dogs.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a found substance onboard a vessel, with an unknown owner to the possible drugs. The item was packaged as evidence and submitted for destruction. A report was completed.

25-001390 Traffic Violation 14:06:51 03/13/25
A San Juan Deputy was injured while conducting a DUI investigation. The suspect was booked into jail for Assault 2nd degree, Disarming a Law Enforcement Officer, Driving Under the Influence, and Resisting Arrest.
25-001392 Harassment 14:49:37 03/13/25
A Lopez Deputy responded when an individual experiencing delusions reported trespassers living on their roof. The situation was determined to be unfounded. Numerous mental health and APS referrals have been made for this individual.
25-001400 Wanted Person 21:53:54 03/13/25
A Deputy on San Juan Island contacted a person that had 6 outstanding warrants out of San Juan County District Court. The person was arrested and was booked into the jail.

25-001416 Wanted Person 14:52:39 03/14/25
The Sheriff’s Office arrested an individual wanted on district court warrants. The individual was booked into the San Juan County S/O jail.
25-001419 Found Property 17:23:09 03/14/25
An Orcas Island Deputy received a vehicle key that was found at the 200 block of Orcas Rd, by a concerned citizen. The citizen posted the found key on Facebook, Orcas Island Rant and Rave, to inform the community that the Sheriff’s Office has possession of the key.

25-001438 Trespassing 13:58:31 03/15/25
A Lopez Deputy was contacted about an incident of trespassing on a private beach. The involved party was located and contacted. County documents detailing the ownership of the area were reviewed.
25-001442 Mental Health 14:20:31 03/15/25
A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a mental call on Waldron Island. The reporting party was not in the county at the time of the call. The incident was forwarded to mental health professionals for follow-up and an informational report was completed.
25-001444 Found Property 16:29:33 03/15/25
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a found cellphone that was located at Jackson Beach. The phone was entered into evidence.
25-001451 Domestic Dispute or Assault 23:29:29 03/15/25
Orcas Island Deputies responded to a domestic dispute between siblings in Eastsound. The investigating Deputies responded to two separate locations and found that both parties were under the influence of alcohol. The investigation revealed no crime was committed, and the incident was documented.

An Orcas Island Deputy documented an alleged theft of a wallet on a Washington State Ferry.

A Deputy on San Juan Island requested for EMS to respond to the jail, per an in-custody individuals request for medical attention. The male was evaluated by EMS and was cleared to remain in the jail. A report was completed.

25-001502 Death Investigation 16:59:47 03/18/25
A Deputy and a Detective responded to a report of a death in Friday Harbor. An investigation was conducted and it appeared as though the individual expired from natural causes. A report was completed.
