A Deputy stopped a vehicle in the area of the 500 block of Guard Street for failing to wear safety belt. The driver was issued a traffic infraction for fail to wear safety belt.

A Deputy was doing traffic enforcement in the area of Carter Avenue and Larson Street. Residents were complaining of vehicles not stopping for the stop signs at that intersection. A traffic stop was made and the driver was issued an infraction for failing to stop at the stop sign.

A Friday Harbor transient entered The Little Store, located on Spring St in Friday Harbor, to make a purchase. An employee at the store said the subject is responsible for tampering with his vehicle while he’s at work. The employee trespassed the subject from the store.

A Deputy was driving to residence at the end of shift and found a vehicle parked on their property near the entrance to my residence. The subject in the car had just been released from jail and was in violation of a court order by not being at his residence. This occurred on San Juan Island.

A Deputy issued a driver a ticket after he saw her driving while not wearing her safety belt in the 2200 block of Fisherman Bay Road.

A Deputy received a report of stolen tools from a Lopez Island resident. He spoke with the reporting person and learned the tools were found and that he no longer wanted to file a report. No further action needed.

A deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that was speeding within the construction zone in the 400 block of Tucker Avenue. Defendant was also driving with a suspended driver’s license out of California. Defendant was cited for speeding and DWLS 2.

SJC Sheriff Deputies responded to a possible burglary of firearms in Eastsound. It was learned that no burglary had taken place and matters were settled civilly.

A deputy responded to a vehicle prowl in progress on Orcas Island. The unidentified suspect left the area prior to the deputy’s arrival. Investigation continues.

A Lopez deputy was dispatched to a female behaving strangely along Fisherman Bay Road. The subject was contacted and determined not to be a danger to herself or others.

A Lopez deputy stopped a vehicle on Fisherman Bay Road and issued the driver a notice of infraction for Speeding.

The reporting deputy was on foot patrol in the Friday Harbor area. The reporting deputy observed a subject with a Superior Court warrant. The subject was taken into custody and booked into the San Juan County holding facility.

The reporting deputy was dispatched to the Friday harbor area in reference to a Verbal Domestic. The reporting deputy arrived and discovered the involved parties had already left the scene.

Deputies responded to an unwanted persons complaint in the 200 block of Lopez Road. It was determined a woman suffering non threatening mental illness urinated outside several businesses. The woman apologized and stated she was unaware anyone saw her urinating outside. A report was completed.

Deputies responded to a Domestic Violence incident in the Eastsound area. When they arrived the Deputies learned that a verbal altercation occurred between two parties. No further action was required and a report was completed.

The reporting deputy was dispatched to the Friday Harbor area in reference to Verbal Domestic. The reporting deputy contacted the involved parties. Both agreed to leave each other alone. No law enforcement action needed.

A SJC Sheriff Deputy performed a traffic stop in the Eastsound area. Further investigation revealed there was probable cause to believe the driver was Driving Under the Influence. The driver was arrested, processed and released with a promise to appear in court.
16-003548 Missing Person 01:04:52 06/05/16
A Deputy responded to a missing person complaint on 06/05/16 after a man suffering dementia drove away from his home around 0100 and got lost while looking for his dog. He was located unharmed in the Lopez Village and subsequently reunited with his spouse, who drove him and the car home.

On 6/5/16 an Eastsound resident reported that both of the batteries were stolen from her electric bikes that were parked in front of the food Co-op. There is no suspect information at this time.

A deputy responded to the Carter Street area to investigate a report of a broken rear window to a vehicle parked on the street. After looking at the vehicle it was determined that something ruptured inside the vehicle causing the glass to break.

A Lopez Island woman reported finding a diabetes test kit and supplies at the Lopez Skate Park. A found property report was taken.

A Deputy issued three parking infractions to three abandoned vehicles in the area of Lampard Street and Browne Street and tagged them with a 24 hour notice of removal.

An Eastsound business reported a table outside was taken over the weekend, there are no suspects.

The reporting deputy was dispatched to a Hit and Run Unattended which occurred in the Friday Harbor area. The victim’s vehicle was struck while parked. No suspect information.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a trespass. The trespassers were contacted and were given a trespass warnings. One of them had a warrant out for his arrest, so he was booked into the San Juan County Jail.

A wallet and contents was turned in to the SO Dispatch sometime last evening or night, and a message left for the owner. Today the owner called and confirmed the mailing address, and gave permission for the $8 in the wallet to be used for return to the Seattle address provided. The wallet was packaged and turned over

Deputies were dispatched to an Eastsound resident who wanted to hurt himself. When Deputies arrived they assisted the resident. The resident was evaluated and transported off Island for additional help.

A Deputy responded to the Lopez Island Library for a welfare check after a resident saw a woman behaving strangely and speaking loudly to herself. The woman, who was known by deputies, was located at the library. There was no evidence she was a danger to herself or others. A report was completed.

A concerned mother called a Lopez Island deputy to check on her grown daughter’s well being. The mother called back a short time later reporting that she had reached her daughter and everything was okay. An information report was taken.
