A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to an Accident Non-Injury. The incident was documented.

24-004874 Agency Assistance 13:17:26 07/31/24
A Division of Youth and Children, Youth and Family referral was made to the Sheriff’s Office. An investigation was conducted and the allegations were unfounded at this time and the report was sent back to DCYF.

A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a fraud call. The reporting party (RP) lost money through an internet scam. A report was taken.

A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to an animal at large. An individual was cited and released for San Juan County Code Public Nuisance and a report was taken.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 1
24-004908 Sex Offense 17:24:48 08/01/24
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a sex offense. After interviewing multiple people, the Deputies contacted the suspect at their residence and arrested them for burglary 1st degree, child molestation 3rd degree, and indecent liberties. They were booked into jail.

24-004909 Citizen Dispute 17:25:45 08/01/24
Lopez Deputies responded when a property owner fired a warning shot at a neighbor’s off leash dog that ran onto their property and approached the property owner. The matter was investigated and it was determined that the property owner was within their rights.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 2
24-004923 Animal Bite 11:05:04 08/02/24
The Sheriff’s Office took a report of an animal bite. The victim of the bite wanted the incident documented and not pursued criminally.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 3
24-004950 Court Order Violation 08:06:24 08/03/24
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a court order violation. Investigation revealed that no crime appeared to have occurred. Both parties had questions about the order and the Deputy stood by for a custody exchange.

24-004977 Theft 14:22:14 08/04/24
A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to multiple theft calls from local farm stands. The incidents were documented. The investigation is ongoing.

24-004980 Found Property 15:59:46 08/04/24
A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of found property. A drivers license belonging to a Seattle resident was located in Friday Harbor. Contact information for the individual was unable to be located, the drivers license was submitted into evidence as found property. A report was completed.

24-004981 Found Property 16:55:07 08/04/24
A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of found property. A purse had been left behind at a local establishment for a couple of days. Contact information for the off island resident was unable to be located. The purse was submitted into evidence as found property. A report was completed.

MONDAY, AUGUST 5
24-004994 Theft 09:51:09 08/05/24
A Deputy was contacted about a Theft in the Friday Harbor area. The person was reporting that a package that was reported delivered had not been received. Report taken.

24-005006 Theft 16:06:21 08/05/24
An Orcas Island Deputy was dispatched to a theft report on the 100 block of Deer Point Rd. An investigation revealed no loss to the reporting party and determined it was a civil matter between the reporting party and the new owners of the property.

24-005013 CPR ALS 17:42:28 08/05/24
An Orcas Island Deputy responded to Brandts Landing Rd. for a call of CPR in progress. Lifesaving efforts were made on an individual who unfortunately passed away. An investigation was conducted, and a report was authored.

24-005017 Domestic Dispute or Assault 22:47:53 08/05/24
Lopez Island Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a local hotel. The caller advised that there was a lot of commotion from the room next door. Deputies contacted the individuals in question and determined the disturbance was verbal only. A report was taken.

24-005018 Vehicle Theft 23:34:54 08/05/24
An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a call of an alleged vehicle theft. An investigation was conducted, and it was determined the allegations were unfounded and a vehicle was not stolen. It was a dispute between two intoxicated individuals and the allegations had no merit. A report was authored.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 6
24-005020 Vagrancy 08:39:40 08/06/24
A Lopez Island Deputy observed Vagrancy in the Lopez Village. An individual was contacted, and multiple warnings were issued. The incident was documented.

24-005028 Citizen Assist 14:10:28 08/06/24
A Lopez Island Deputy was approached in the parking lot of Lopez Island Fire & EMS. The incident was documented.

24-005030 Medical ALS 15:20:53 08/06/24
Lopez Island Deputies and Lopez Island Fire & EMS were dispatched the Lopez Ferry Landing for a Childbirth in progress on board a Ferry. A child was soon delivered onboard the Ferry, and both were transported via Airlift to a Hospital out of caution. The incident was documented.

An Orcas Island Deputy responded to the 100 block of Hilltop Ln. for an animal problem. The reporting party complained his neighbor’s dog was a nuisance and was roaming loose on his property. The neighbor was contacted and warned about county lease laws and an incident report was authored.

An Orcas Island Deputy responded to 57 Harrison Point Ln for an animal at large call. A loose dog was taken into custody, booked into the animal shelter and the owner was issued a citation for violation of San Juan County loose dog ordinance.

24-005035 Animal at Large 18:47:00 08/06/24
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a dog at large. The dog owner was issued a dog at large warning letter. A report was completed.

24-005036 Malicious Mischief 18:47:14 08/06/24
An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a call of a Vandalism on the 500 block of Willis Ln. Unknown person(s) cut the reporting party’s fence which hold her cattle. There are no investigative leads. A report was authored.

An Orcas Island Deputy was dispatched to a theft call. The incident is currently under investigation and is being documented.

24-005053 Theft 18:31:10 08/07/24
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a theft of several campaign signs. The suspect vehicle was located and 18 signs were located. The incident was documented.

24-005055 Court Order Violation 19:19:13 08/07/24
A Deputy on Orcas responded to a possible protection order violation. After looking over the order it was found that no violation had occurred. A report was authored.
