Complainant and her husband came to the Sheriff’s Office with the listed wallet and contents. They stated they had visited the dock at Egg Lake, and encountered a young male with two female companions, who left after they arrived.

A Friday Harbor resident came to the office to report a fraudulent withdrawal from her Keybank account. On 7-7-17 $1,000 was withdrawn from the Magnolia branch by an unknown person. She has alerted the Keybank fraud division and closed her account. Investigation continues.

A Friday Harbor resident called to report her boyfriend as a missing person since Tuesday. A missing person form was filled out, pictures were obtained and deputies searched for the subject without success. Investigation and search continues.

A Lopez Island Deputy responded to an illegal dumping and theft of services
complaint at the Lopez Solid Waste facility, while it was closed, on 07/20/17.
An investigation was completed and the suspect, who claimed ignorance, agreed to
pay for the waste he had dumped. A report was completed.

An Orcas Deputy responded to a request for a call back regarding a Suspicious Incident that occurred between 7/12 & 7/19. The Deputy called the reporting party and ascertained that no crime was committed. The reporting party requested a report and an information report was made.

Orcas Deputies responded to a report of a wanted person traveling in a vehicle along Orcas Rd. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and the passenger was arrested for an outstanding warrant and the driver being cited for DWLS 3rd Degree and Operating a Motor Vehicle W/out Insurance. Report made.

Orcas Island deputies responded to the Eastsound area with fire and EMS personnel to a report of a rollover vehicle accident with possible injury. Upon arrival Deputies found there to be no injuries. The vehicle was removed. A report was taken.

A Lopez deputy was dispatched to a dog at large. The dog was returned to its owner and a warning letter was issued.

A Deputy was dispatched to a theft at Sucia Island. Awaiting further information.
17-004625 Burglary – Residential 16:42:41 07/21/17
A Deputy received a report of an apparent residential burglary in Eastsound. Approximately $900 was missing from the home. The case is under further investigation.

A citizen contacted a deputy about harassment on social media. A deputy settled this incident without further law enforcement action.

17-004652 Death Investigation 09:25:04 07/22/17
In Friday Harbor a body was discovered. This turned out to be a person missing since 07-18-17. The death was an apparent suicide and family was notified.
17-004660 Traffic Hazard 17:18:48 07/22/17
A citizen advised a deputy of a traffic hazard near Olga. The Deputy responded and discovered a motor home had become stuck in the roadway and caused some damage to the county roadway. An information report was taken.
17-004662 Vicious Animal 18:00:42 07/22/17
A Lopez Island deputy was called to investigate a reported animal abuse of a dog. The incident remains under investigation.
17-004668 Trouble Unknown 21:07:25 07/22/17
A deputy was dispatched to a Trouble Unknown in the San Juan Island area. The reporting deputy arrived and contacted the involved parties. The reporting deputy was able to determine the incident was a verbal domestic. Parties separated.

An Orcas Deputy responded to a Welfare Check of an Eastsound resident. After a preliminary investigation one of the parties agreed to let the subject of the Welfare Check spend the night at their residence. A report was made and referred to Compass Health MHP.

17-004708 Malicious Mischief 06:42:02 07/24/17
A Friday Harbor resident called to report a firecracker had been set off in her mailbox, sometime between Saturday afternoon and this morning. The mailbox was undamaged and the firecracker was just shreds of paper. There was no other evidence and no suspects.
17-004712 Vehicle Theft 08:05:37 07/24/17
A Friday Harbor resident called to report the theft of his vehicle sometime between 11:00pm and 7:00am. Deputies searched for it and the vehicle was located at 9:00am, undamaged, but with approx. $50 worth of items missing. There was no physical evidence and no suspects at this time.

A Friday Harbor resident called to ask for a welfare check on a friend. Deputies contacted the person, who already had other friends with her. They were put in contact with the proper agencies.

A Deputy responded to the Olga area on a reported hit and run collision. It was discovered that the damage to a vehicle was most likely a vandalism and had not been struck by another vehicle. The case is under further investigation.

A Cape San Juan resident reported the theft of nine live crabs from his ‘crab condo’ tied to the Cape San Juan docks. The RP is searching for any possible suspects.

An Orcas Island deputy responded to a welfare check on a woman who had not been seen or heard from in several months. It is undetermined where the woman may be. An investigation is being conducted.

A deputy conducted an area check at the West Sound County Dock. The dock has clearly visible signs stating it is a day use area only, No overnight mooring. I observed the suspects vessel moored at the dock. I observed a parking ticket on the railing of the vessel from a previous unlawful
