On 07/12/23 A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a non-injury boating accident in Friday Harbor. A vessel collided with another vessel that was docked, causing damage. A report was completed.

Lopez Island Deputies were dispatched to a report of a suspicious person parked in a driveway. The individual had moved prior to our arrival. The individual was contacted, and it was determined no crime was committed. An informational report was taken.

A San Juan Deputy took a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle owner completed a Stolen Vehicle Report and the information was entered into the stolen vehicle database. As of this writing, the vehicle has not been recovered.

Deputies on San Juan Island responded to a report of an individuals ex not wanting to give their cat back. After talking with the involved parties, the cat was returned to the owner. A report was completed.

23-005480 Harassment 17:05:03 07/13/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of an individual receiving unfriendly text messages. The individual wished to trespass the text message sender from their residence. A report was completed.

23-005491 Traffic Hazard 21:39:01 07/13/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a traffic hazard. A large, old, broken down bus had been left on the side of Roche Harbor Rd. The vehicle was too large to be towed, and an owner is trying to be located. A report was completed.

23-005494 Disorderly Conduct 23:38:46 07/13/23
A Deputy on Orcas Island was dispatched to a welfare check. The subject of the welfare check was not home at the time of the initial call. Another Deputy located that subject later that evening and was able to check on their wellbeing.

FRIDAY, JULY 14
23-005496 Mental Health 03:06:17 07/14/23
Deputies on Orcas Island responded to multiple calls regarding a naked man in Eastsound. Contact was made and the male was taken into protective custody with assistance of US Coast Guard and WA State Parks Marine Assets for a mental health evaluation.

23-005502 Harassment 09:32:04 07/14/23
A Lopez resident called about alleged boating violations and harassing behavior in Fisherman Bay. Both parties were contacted and advised to avoid all contact with each other. There was no evidence of a crime.

An Orcas Island Deputy was dispatched to a safekeeping call. A report was generated after property was collected.

A found wallet was turned in at the Lopez station and returned to the owner a short time later.

A Lopez resident called about an on-going easement issue with a neighbor. Civil remedies with the court were suggested as a binding solution.

San Juan Deputies responded to a report of an overdose of a child. They were not breathing, and CPR was in-progress. Arriving Deputies learned that Narcan had been administered and noted the child was now breathing. San Juan EMS took over care of the child and transported them to PIMC.

An Orcas Island Deputy was dispatched to a found property call. The owner was located, and the property was returned. A report was generated.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a theft call. A report was taken.

A San Juan Deputy took a report of fraud. A message was sent to the reporting party regarding a credit card account that was not associated with them. No loss was incurred and no information was disclosed. They were referred to ic3.gov to report the incident and a local report was generated.

23-005534 Malicious Mischief 11:09:20 07/15/23
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of vandalism. A mailbox appeared to have been destroyed by an explosive. No suspect information was available; the incident was documented in a report.

23-005537 Trespassing 12:24:23 07/15/23
A San Juan Deputy took a report of trespassing. A homeowner located an unwanted person on video at their residence. The person was identified, and the homeowner signed a trespass warning letter barring the suspect from their property.

23-005549 Domestic Dispute or Assault 15:33:01 07/15/23
Lopez Deputies responded to verbal domestic. The parties had separated prior to contact with Deputies. No crime was committed. A report was completed.

An Orcas Island Deputy was dispatched to a welfare check. The individual was not home. An informational report was taken.

23-005561 Domestic Dispute or Assault 20:04:50 07/15/23
Deputies on San Juan Island were dispatched to a report of a domestic incident. The incident turned out to be verbal only and the parties had separated before Deputies arrived.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to an unwanted person call. The owner of a local business asked to have three people trespassed. The Deputy located the three subjects and served them with trespass warning letters.

Deputies on San Juan Island responded to a domestic incident. After speaking with the involved parties, the incident was determined to be verbal in nature. A report was completed.

Lopez Island Deputies responded to a possible Burglary In-Progress at a residence. The property and residence were searched. It was determined the wind had blown open an unsecured door.

Friday Harbor residence walked in to report an item in the mail that never showed up in her mailbox. The item was sent via FedEx with a tracking number and signature requirement, but was never delivered or signed for.

A Friday Harbor man reported his 9 foot aluminum bottom dinghy missing after tying it up the night before in a sloppy manner. The reporting party walked the docks and has been unable to locate it at the time of this report.

An Orcas Island resident reported a suspicious person on his property. A Deputy responded and checked the area. The suspicious person was gone on arrival.

A Deputy on Orcas Island received a set of keys as found property. The Deputy was unable to identify the owner. The keys were booked into the evidence room.

Deputies on Orcas Island responded to a welfare check. The subject of the welfare check spoke to a designated crisis responder and was given a courtesy ride to a friend’s house.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of fraud. A local business reported that their customers had received an invoice via e-mail, which was determined to be fraudulent. No loss to customers was reported. A report was completed.

23-005671 Traffic Hazard 16:16:30 07/18/23
Lopez Island Deputies were notified of a disabled vehicle fully blocking the eastbound lane of Hummel Lake Road near the crest of the hill. The vehicle was removed by a tow firm due to concerns for public safety. A report was taken.

23-005675 Accident-Injury, Traffic 18:23:08 07/18/23
Deputies on San Juan Island responded with EMS to a motorcycle accident with injures. A motorcycle and the driver went off an embankment. The driver was transported to the hospital for further care. A report was completed.
