24-000619 Accident-NonInj 06:38:34 01/31/24
An unknown vehicle left the roadway at the 3500 block of West Valley Road and drove through a fence doing significant damage to the fence. The vehicle is described as possibly being an older Toyota 4-runner, dark blue or black with a roof rack on top.

24-000620 Agency Assistance 07:37:00 01/31/24
Adult Protective Services (APS) referred a possible harassment case to the Sheriff’s Office. A San Juan Deputy spoke with the victim and determined a course of action.

24-000622 Agency Assistance 08:59:19 01/31/24
A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to an Agency Assist. The incident was documented.

24-000627 Trespassing 10:09:58 01/31/24
A Deputy responded to a local business on a trespassing complaint. It was learned that an individual who had previously received a trespass warning notice had returned to the property two days in a row. The case is under further investigation.

24-000629 Trespassing 11:25:40 01/31/24
A Deputy took a trespassing complaint from a business in Eastsound. A subject who had previously been provided a trespass warning letter at the request of the owner, was found to be back on the property. The case was documented and forwarded to the Prosecutors Office.

24-000633 Agency Assistance 13:55:00 01/31/24
An Adult Protective Services (APS) referral for financial abuse was made to the Sheriff’s Office. After a brief investigation, it was determined the victim is not living in Washington State, but in California. The case has been referred back to APS.

A Deputy on Orcas Island was assigned a citizen assist call-back.The complainant wished to document a verbal argument. The Deputy contacted theinvolved parties and authored a report.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 1
24-000657 Death Investigation 10:31:25 02/01/24
A Deputy was dispatched to an Unattended Death. An investigation was done and report taken.

24-000663 Trauma BLS 13:41:43 02/01/24
A Lopez Island Deputy & Lopez Island Fire & EMS were dispatched to a trauma call. The patient was airlifted for further treatment and the incident was documented.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 2
24-000674 Agency Assistance 09:08:43 02/02/24
A Deputy was dispatched to an Agency Assist in the Friday Harbor area. The Agency was requesting a home check on a family. Deputy contacted the family and did not find any significant issues. Information report taken.

24-000677 Trauma BLS 12:58:00 02/02/24
Lopez Island Deputies & Lopez Island Fire & EMS were dispatched to a Trauma BLS. The patient was airlifted to a higher level of care and the incident was documented.

24-000687 Accident-HitRun 20:54:21 02/02/24
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a hit-and-run collision. The vehicle was located a short distance away and the driver was arrested for DUI.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 3
24-000691 Traffic Violation 00:11:28 02/03/24
Deputies responded to a reported trespassing complaint in the late night hours. Upon response, two persons were discovered as the persons who trespassed. The persons were educated that the area was private and they apologized for their actions. A report was taken.

24-000693 Accident-HitRun 08:09:17 02/03/24
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to an overnight fender-bender. The responsible party agreed to pay for damages.

24-000705 Accident-NonInj 18:26:07 02/03/24
A Deputy responded to a single motor vehicle collision. No injuries resulted, and minimal damage was done to a vehicle attempting to turn around and ended up driving into a ditch. The vehicle was recovered and drivable from the location.

24-000707 Welfare Check 19:00:14 02/03/24
A Deputy took a report of a welfare check from a family member who had heard a rumor that a loved one had passed away. Further investigation revealed that in the chain of communication from one person to another, a mistaken identity was discovered and the family member is believed to be ok.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 4
24-000721 Civil Problem 14:28:13 02/04/24
A Deputy was dispatched to a Civil Problem in the Friday Harbor area. The Deputy contacted the person reporting the incident. The person described a problem with neighbor. The Deputy discussed several options. Information report taken.

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 5
24-000742 Death Investigation 19:50:53 02/05/24
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a death investigation. During the investigation, it appeared that a gap had occurred between the death and the report. Video footage was reviewed and showed multiple items being removed by the reporting party, who was arrested.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 6
24-000749 Assault – Body Force 10:52:04 02/06/24
A San Juan Island male reported an assault to the Sheriff’s Office. After investigation, neither party was cooperative with the investigation and no charges were filed. Informational only.

24-000759 Court Order Violation 14:57:49 02/06/24
A Deputy on Orcas responded to a possible Order violation call near Eastsound. After an investigation was completed there was no proof of the violation.

24-000764 Overdose 18:10:52 02/06/24
A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of an overdose. The victim was treated and transported by SJ EMS.

24-000766 Welfare Check 21:53:46 02/06/24
A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a welfare check on a person that had been drinking. The person was on conditions to not drink alcohol.

A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of a harassment. The citizen wanted the person trespassed from the property.
