A San Juan Deputy took a report of a cold theft. Items were taken within the prior 4 months. No suspect information was available, and a report was generated.
26-000577 Wanted Person 14:46:32 01/28/26
Orcas Island Deputies apprehended a wanted fugitive near the Deer Harbor area. The Deputies were able to place the wanted fugitive in custody without incident. Subsequently the fugitive was booked into the San Juan County Jail.

26-000584 Controlled Substance Problem 09:22:25 01/29/26
An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a drug incident near Eastsound. The Deputy contacted the reporting party that found a glass pipe containing suspected methamphetamine. If this is your lost property contact the Sheriff’s Office for help or resources.
26-000586 Court Order Violation 09:57:29 01/29/26
Lopez Island Deputies were dispatched to an Order Violation. An investigation was conducted, and an individual was transported to Friday Harbor. The incident was documented.
26-000589 Abandoned Vehicle 11:20:35 01/29/26
A Deputy on San Juan Island tagged a vehicle as abandoned. The vehicle was not moved and on 2-4-26 the Deputy followed up and Island Towing impounded the vehicle.
26-000591 Found Property 12:14:23 01/29/26
An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a found property incident in Eastsound. The Deputy retrieved an insulin pump from the reporting party and visited local medical facilities attempting to locate the owner of the device. The insulin pump was delivered to the Sheriff’s Office property room.

An Orcas Island Deputy responded to an abandoned vehicle incident at the Orcas Island Ferry Park and Ride. Two vehicles were identified as abandoned and a 72-hour notice was issued. Please be mindful of the 3- and 7-day parking area which is being enforced at the Ferry Park and Ride.

A local resident turned in found property–a baby stroller–to the Sheriff’s Office. It was checked into evidence.

An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a death investigation. The investigation revealed no suspicious activity.

A Lopez Deputy completed a courtesy report regarding possible property damage to vehicle.
26-000611 Death Investigation 13:58:44 01/30/26
San Juan Island Deputies were contacted to conduct a death investigation of a local resident. Upon investigation, it was apparent that the death was from natural causes.

Deputies on Orcas Island responded to a report of trespassing on a local residence. Deputies contacted the reporting party and obtained video.

A Deputy took a report of an unwanted person on their property. The reporting party was contacted and signed a Trespass Warning Letter for the unwanted person. The incident was documented.

A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a report of Fraud. An investigation is underway.

San Juan Island Deputies responded to a local establishment for a report of an unwanted person. The person was acting inappropriately and refusing to leave per the establishment and they wanted the person trespassed indefinitely. The Deputies issued a trespass warning letter.

San Juan Island Deputies responded to a report of domestic violence. After investigating, it was determined that an assault occurred. The suspect was arrested for Assault in the 4th Degree-Domestic Violence.

A Deputy on Orcas was assigned a fraud complaint. A local resident’s email address was hacked. The victim took steps to safeguard their electronic devices.

A Deputy on Orcas conducted a welfare check. The involved person was apparently not home.

A Deputy on Orcas was dispatched to a possible order violation. A report was taken.

A Deputy on Orcas received a complaint of possible harassment. The complaint was civil in nature.
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 3

I responded to a report of a burglary. I arrived and backed up Deputy Norton who had already made entry into the residence. Deputy Norton was in the process of fingerprinting various surfaces in the residence.

Lopez Island Deputies were dispatched to a Domestic Violence Call. The incident was documented.
