23-000531 Accident-NonInj 11:24:48 01/25/23
A San Juan Deputy responded to a single-vehicle collision. The driver showed no signs of impairment and the Deputy assisted with traffic control until Island Tow and San Juan County Public Works cleared the roadway. A collision report was generated.
23-000537 Controlled Substance Problem 15:38:12 01/25/23
A Lopez Deputy responded to a drugs call. An administrator at the school confiscated a zip lock baggie containing remnants of marijuana from a middle schooler. A referral was made to juvenile services.

An Orcas Island Deputy authored a courtesy report for a citizen regarding a civil dispute.
23-000552 CPR ALS 15:37:41 01/26/23
A Deputy responded to a reported CPR in progress call on Orcas Island. Lifesaving efforts were conducted by EMS staff, but the subject was unable to be revived. The circumstances behind the death are being investigated per standard procedures.
FRIDAY, JANUARY 27
23-000563 Citizen Assist 08:27:58 01/27/23
A Deputy was contacted at the Sheriff’s Office for a Citizen Assist. The person wanted to express their concerns about a civil matter. Information report taken.
23-000568 Welfare Check 12:38:50 01/27/23
San Juan Deputies responded to a welfare check. On arrival the concerned party was found to be deceased. Investigation revealed nothing suspicious; the death appeared to be natural. A Uniform Death Report was completed.
23-000571 Trauma ALS 15:04:04 01/27/23
San Juan County Sheriff Personnel and Orcas Island Fire and Rescue responded to a reported bicyclist down on Deer Harbor Road. Upon arrival, it was discovered the bicyclist was involved in a single bicycle collision with no vehicles involved. He was transported to a medical facility.
SATURDAY, JANUARY 28
23-000583 Malicious Mischief 08:40:34 01/28/23
A Deputy was dispatched to a Malicious Mischief in the Friday Harbor area. Unknown persons had “tagged” the street and other locations. Photos taken along with a report.
23-000590 Citizen Assist 13:09:10 01/28/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a walk in traffic complaint. A statement was taken and the citizen was advised to call in if the event happened again.
23-000592 Welfare Check 13:51:28 01/28/23
A Deputy responded to a report of a welfare check on Orcas Island as the subjects mother hadn’t been able to get ahold of her. The subject was found to be alive and well.
23-000596 Death Investigation 15:19:42 01/28/23
Deputies responded to a Friday Harbor residence for a death investigation. The subject was found deceased with no foul play apparent.
23-000607 Wanted Person 22:29:19 01/28/23
A San Juan Deputy observed a person with a warrant walking on a sidewalk. The Deputy attempted to arrest the individual for the felony warrant and a foot pursuit ensued, with the suspect climbing multiple fences into private properties. Deputies were unable to locate the individual again.

A San Juan Deputy located an individual with a felony warrant and several misdemeanor warrants while searching for another individual who also had a felony warrant. The individual was placed under arrest and was booked into jail.
23-000610 Accident-Injury, Traffic 23:58:07 01/28/23
At approximately midnight a Deputy responded to a reported vehicle collision on Orcas Island. Further investigation revealed probable cause to believe the male driver was impaired. The driver was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.
SUNDAY, JANUARY 29
23-000615 Domestic Dispute or Assault 13:30:51 01/29/23
Deputies on Orcas Island responded to a reported domestic assault. The suspect was arrested for assault in the fourth degree, domestic violence and arrested for an outstanding warrant.
23-000618 Weapons Offense 14:41:58 01/29/23
A Deputy was dispatched to a Weapons Offense. The person calling believed one of their livestock had been shot. After an investigation and examination, it was discovered the animal was not shot. Informational report taken.
23-000627 Traffic Violation 19:42:52 01/29/23
A Deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver was found to be driver under the influence of alcohol and was arrested.
23-000628 Welfare Check 21:44:03 01/29/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a welfare check. The individual was contacted and appeared to be having a medical issue and eventually agreed to be seeing by EMS. The individual was evaluated by EMS and was ultimately taken to the hospital for further care. A report was completed.

I took a report of graffiti at the Gravel Pit barricades as well as the Surina Business Park wall.
23-000646 Trespassing 13:55:48 01/30/23
A Deputy on Orcas responded to a theft of plants taken from private property near Eastsound. After an investigation was completed and video footage was reviewed the suspect was positively identified. They will be arrested for theft in the third degree once located.
23-000654 Threats 16:24:10 01/30/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island took a threats report in Friday Harbor. Further investigation will be conducted. A report was completed.
23-000655 Wanted Person 17:07:18 01/30/23
Deputies on San Juan Island were dispatched to a possible wanted person at a grocery store. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody.
TUESDAY, JANUARY 31

Two male guests of the Earthbox Inn were trespassed from their property due to an incident the night before.

A report was taken of possible thefts at the Roche Harbor Sculpture park. A statement was provided and an investigation is underway.

A Deputy on Orcas conducted a death investigation.
23-000682 Missing Person 15:06:27 01/31/23
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a missing person complaint. The missing person was located later that day.
23-000684 Civil Problem 16:57:59 01/31/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island attempted to serve a court order via e-mail as permitted by the courts. The Deputy had previously served court documents to the respondent via e-mail, but this time was unsuccessful. It appeared as though the recipient had blocked the Deputy’s e-mail address.
23-000685 Animal at Large 16:59:08 01/31/23
A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a dog at large. The dog was picked up by the Deputy and returned home. A dog at large warning letter was issued to the owners.
