Deputies were dispatched to a domestic violence call on Decatur Island. There was evidence of violence. The suspect was arrested and booked into the SJC Jail.

20-000350 Traffic Hazard 11:39:03 01/15/20
A Deputy responded to a report of a traffic hazard in Friday Harbor. It was determined that the incident was a one car minor accident due to the icy road and there were no injuries. Collision report made.

A Deputy on San Juan took a report of a possible robbery. The reporting party was interviewed and the incident was documented. There are no suspects or workable leads at this time.

A Friday Harbor Deputy was contacted in regards to a Communications issue involving a known individual. The information was gathered and an informational report made.

A Deputy took a report of a possible theft or misplaced property.

A Deputy took a report of an apparent assault that had occurred. Further investigation revealed probable cause to believe a known suspect physically assaulted another person. The case is under further investigation.

A Deputy took a report of an alleged hit and run with property damage. An unknown vehicle had damaged some landscaping on private property. A report was taken.

20-000376 Fraud 14:50:04 01/16/20
An Orcas Island Deputy was dispatched to a fraud call in the Eastsound area. A report was taken. The investigation is ongoing.

20-000377 Controlled Substance Problem 15:11:34 01/16/20
A Deputy on San Juan arrested a driver for DWLS 3rd and Ignition Interlock Violation. The vehicle was impounded for a narcotics investigation.

20-000379 Civil Problem 18:06:55 01/16/20
Deputies responded to a civil call in Friday Harbor. The civil papers were served without incident and the property obtained via a valid order signed by a Judge was secured into the evidence room pending a hearing.

Orcas Deputies received a call of a possible forgery in Eastsound. A report was filed and the investigation is ongoing.

A Lopez Deputy was called to investigate a complaint of an unlawful recording of a private conversation. The involved person was admonished and warned that additional violations would result in a criminal charge.

A Lopez Deputy contacted two dog owners about on-going issues between them. A report was completed.

A Deputy on San Juan responded to a burglary to a business. The incident was documented.

A Deputy on San Juan arrested a subject with an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

A Lopez resident reported damage to a fence after a vehicle left the roadway. Deputies are looking for a white Ford SUV involved in the incident.

A Lopez Island Deputy spotted an illegal burn that had gotten out of control. The fire had spread to standing trees nearby, and took firefighters over 2.5 hours to extinguish.

A Lopez Island Deputy was called regarding a landlord-tenant dispute.

A Lopez Island Deputy was called about animals running at large. The animal owner was contacted, and the animals were secured back in the pasture from which they escaped.

A Deputy responded to a call back report of harassment. After talking with the reporting party it was determined that no crime had occurred and information report was completed.

Lopez Island Deputies arrested a man for making death threats. He was transported to Friday Harbor and booked into jail pending a court hearing.

20-000459 Found Property 13:55:33 01/20/20
A Deputy responded to a walk in report of found property in Friday Harbor. The property owner was not able to be located and the property was secured in the property room for safe keeping per policy. No further investigation.

20-000461 Welfare Check 14:38:04 01/20/20
A San Juan Deputy was dispatched to a welfare check. Check was completed and contact was made.

20-000463 Missing Person 14:48:12 01/20/20
Orcas Deputies were notified of a missing 93 year old female. Deputies conducted a search and located her in a wooded area.

A Deputy responded to a walk in report of found property in Friday Harbor. The property owner was not able to be located and the property was secured in the property room for safe keeping per policy. No further investigation.

20-000469 Weapon Safekeeping 17:44:53 01/20/20
A reporting Deputy was contacted at the San Juan Island Sheriff’s Office in reference to Safekeeping. The person had some items he wished to turn over to the Sheriff’s Office for disposal. Report taken.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a domestic incident. It was determined that no crime was committed. A report was taken.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a threats complaint. The victim was contacted, it was determined that no crime occurred, and a report taken.

Orcas Deputies were given a small zipper bag which was found in the 200 block of Crescent Beach Rd. The items were logged in to evidence as found property.

20-000485 Fraud 15:56:35 01/21/20
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a fraud complaint. The victim had reportedly received calls and emails from what appeared to be an Amazon employee. She soon realized she was being scammed and was able to keep the perpetrator from receiving any gain from his deceptions.
