A Lopez Deputy responded when a driver attempting to park at the school crashed into a retaining wall. The driver reported their foot slipping onto the gas pedal. There were no injuries. A report was taken.
24-000185 Animal at Large 10:25:15 01/10/24
The Sheriff’s Office received a report of a dog at large. The dog was captured and returned to its owner. The owner was sent a dog at large warning letter.
24-000195 Wanted Person 16:39:10 01/10/24
Deputies located a person who had active San Juan County arrest warrants on Orcas Island. The subject was arrested and booked into San Juan County Jail.
24-000198 Sex Offense 17:49:30 01/10/24
A San Juan Deputy took a report of a sex offense. The incident is still under investigation.
THURSDAY, JANUARY 11
24-000217 Domestic Dispute or Assault 14:42:39 01/11/24
A Deputy was dispatched to a Domestic in Friday Harbor. The reporting Deputy arrived and contacted the people involved. The call involved an argument between a mother and teenage daughter. The Deputy spoke with both and determined there was no crime committed. Report taken.

A Lopez Island Deputy was contacted by a Lopez Island resident. The incident was documented.
24-000226 Domestic Dispute or Assault 18:34:26 01/11/24
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a domestic. No crime was committed, but CPS was notified regarding the concerning living situation.
24-000229 Controlled Substance Problem 19:48:50 01/11/24
San Juan County Sheriff Office was made aware by a parent that students at a local school district had a bad reaction to ingesting a drug, causing the need for medical attention. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Deputies and EMS boated to Waldron Island and picked up a subject non mental health detainer. The subject was then boated to Bellingham.

A Lopez Deputy responded when a vehicle was discovered in a ditch. Upon investigation, the driver was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for DUI.
24-000259 Citizen Assist 20:50:00 01/12/24
A San Juan Deputy took a request for a citizen assist. The person wished to relay information about which they were concerned. The person did not report any criminal activity and no law enforcement intervention was legally available.
SUNDAY, JANUARY 14
24-000287 Boating Problem 16:22:19 01/14/24
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a sunken vessel in Friday Harbor. It was reported that the sailboat sunk in its slip a couple days prior during the strong winds, and that the owner was already aware of the situation. A report was completed.

A Lopez man was arrested for threats to kill via a messaging application. He was booked into jail.
24-000290 Vehicle Theft 10:44:05 01/15/24
A Lopez man was arrested for stealing a motor vehicle and booked into jail.
24-000305 Threats 23:55:51 01/15/24
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a threats complaint. The complaint was determined to be unfounded.
TUESDAY, JANUARY 16
24-000312 Animal Noise 12:46:17 01/16/24
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of an animal noise complaint. The owner of the dog was officially notified of the county noise ordinance. A report was completed.
24-000328 Accident-NonInj 23:50:46 01/16/24
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a roll over accident on Roche Harbor Rd. The driver began to lose control due to the snow, ultimately overcorrecting and going into the ditch, coming to rest on its roof. A report was completed.
