25-000010 Citizen Dispute 12:01:40 01/01/25
Lopez Deputies responded to a welfare check. An adult child took their parent’s vehicle for a ride without asking for permission. The situation resolved itself without Deputy interference, as they returned home a short time later.
25-000015 Unwanted Person 14:14:46 01/01/25
San Juan Island Deputies responded to call for trespassing at a residence. The incident was documented, and a trespass warning letter was created.
THURSDAY, JANUARY 2
25-000020 Theft 11:21:47 01/02/25
A Lopez resident reported the theft of a package from a group of mailboxes near the South End Store.
25-000022 Welfare Check 12:26:34 01/02/25
A Deputy was dispatched to a Welfare Check in the Friday Harbor area. The person was requesting a welfare check on an unhoused person. The unhoused person was contacted and declined assistance. Report taken.
25-000024 Burglary – Residential 12:28:07 01/02/25
A Deputy on San Juan responded to a report of a residential burglary. After speaking with the reporting party, it was learned that a neighbor had electrical work done; part of the work was completed in the reporting parties storage unit. Three trespass warning letters were issued.
25-000026 Malicious Mischief 13:04:13 01/02/25
An Orcas Island Deputy took a report of a vandalism to the lawn at Orcas Island High School. No suspect has been identified at the time of the report.
25-000027 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 13:50:45 01/02/25
A Lopez resident reported a dark brown Jeep Wrangler with numerous stickers on the rear window driving on a private road. The vehicle was not found; Deputies will contact the vehicle if located.
25-000031 Sex Offense 20:02:30 01/02/25
A San Juan Island Deputy responded to a sex offense call. The reporting party was not from San Juan County and the case was forwarded to the appropriate county.
FRIDAY, JANUARY 3
25-000035 Trouble Unknown 01:49:37 01/03/25
An Orcas Island resident was arrested and charged with Burglary in the first degree and Malicious Mischief after being caught inside Island Hardware and Supply at 0200 in the morning.
25-000039 Unwanted Person 11:41:15 01/03/25
A Deputy was dispatched to an Unwanted Person. The business owner was requesting a Trespass Warning Letter be issued. The letter was completed and served. Report taken.
25-000045 Domestic Dispute or Assault 15:03:43 01/03/25
Lopez Deputies responded to a domestic report. An adult son engaged in a verbal argument with his mother. The incident was verbal only and had resolved itself before the Deputies arrived.
SATURDAY, JANUARY 4
25-000053 Vicious Animal 11:47:19 01/04/25
A Lopez resident was issued a citation after an altercation between two dogs.
25-000054 Animal at Large 12:05:44 01/04/25
A Deputy was dispatched to a Dog at Large in the San Juan Island area. The caller provided evidence of a dog wandering the neighborhood. The owner of the dog was issued a citation for Failure to contain a Potentially Dangerous Dog. Report taken.
25-000059 Mental Health 13:29:13 01/04/25
A Lopez Deputy responded to a report of a mentally ill person boarding a ferry for the mainland. The reporting party was advised to call mainland agencies for assistance, as the ferry had already departed Lopez.
SUNDAY, JANUARY 5
25-000070 Juvenile Problem 09:41:23 01/05/25
Deputy was dispatched to a Juvenile Problem in the San Juan Island area. Deputy spoke with the people involved. Report taken.
25-000074 Mental Health 14:37:17 01/05/25
Lopez Deputies received an unfounded 911 report from a person suffering from mental health issues. The case was forwarded to Compass Health for follow up.
25-000077 Domestic Dispute or Assault 21:43:22 01/05/25
Deputies on Orcas Island responded to a domestic dispute. One of the involved was arrested for malicious mischief – domestic violence.
MONDAY, JANUARY 6
25-000079 Medical BLS 02:01:22 01/06/25
I was called out at approximately 0200 to assist EMS. Currently, Deputies respond to all EMS calls for this address due to mental health and family issues.
25-000084 Welfare Check 09:47:21 01/06/25
An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a welfare check on Langell Ln. The resident had not been heard from in one week. The resident was found deceased. An investigation was conducted, and no suspicious circumstances were found.
25-000085 Civil Problem 10:45:05 01/06/25
A Lopez resident reported landlord tenant violations. Suggestions were offered. Deputies have been to the involved home on multiple occasions regarding the poor behavior of the elderly landlord and his female caretaker.
25-000088 Trespassing 11:48:45 01/06/25
A Lopez man was trespassed from a village business after making inappropriate comments to a female employee.
25-000092 Citizen Dispute 13:48:33 01/06/25
A Lopez Deputy was dispatched to a non-criminal dispute between family members. A report was completed.
TUESDAY, JANUARY 7
25-000099 Domestic Dispute or Assault 08:02:46 01/07/25
An Orcas Island Deputy responded to Wareham Way for a domestic violence incident. An investigation was conducted and one half of the incident was arrested for felony domestic violence charges.
25-000103 Malicious Mischief 10:20:04 01/07/25
A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a vandalism call. The reporting party advised that they had just smashed a vehicle window for the fun of it. The vehicle belonged to the callers dad. The incident was investigated and documented.
25-000110 Litter/Pollution/Public Health 13:02:35 01/07/25
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a littering complaint. An investigation commenced and is ongoing.
25-000116 Agency Assistance 19:03:26 01/07/25
Lopez Island Deputies were dispatched to an Agency Assist Mental Health DSHS pickup order. An individual was later taken into protective custody and transported to Peace Island Medical Center for further care. The incident was documented.
