A Lopez Deputy responded when an elderly citizen needed assistance with their Facebook account.

24-001177 Theft 11:15:56 02/28/24
A Friday Harbor man was seen shoplifting on camera. A statement was obtained as well as a copy of the video footage. A report was completed and forwarded to the PA’s office for charges.

24-001181 Abandoned Vehicle 15:38:30 02/28/24
Island Towing came to impound a vehicle parked on Park Street in Friday Harbor.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 29
24-001205 Overdose 18:16:53 02/29/24
San Juan Deputies responded to the report of an overdose. The person had been administered several doses of Narcan and was conscious. EMS transported them to PIMC for additional care.

FRIDAY, MARCH 1
24-001208 Mental Health 00:11:42 03/01/24
A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a report of trespassers on a property. The Deputy arrived and determined that there was no one trespassing on the property. The call was cleared unfounded, and was referred to mental health professionals do to a high number of unfounded incidents.

24-001212 Theft 10:39:04 03/01/24
A Lopez resident reported the theft of package left on their remote set of mailboxes.

24-001216 Juvenile Problem 12:41:22 03/01/24
Lopez school staff reported that a student was found to be in possession of a vape pen, a violation of state law and school policy. The issue was forwarded to juvenile court services.

24-001217 Fraud 12:49:48 03/01/24
A Lopez Deputy received a fraud complaint. A Lopez resident was scammed out of a significant sum of money by persons claiming to be an incarcerated relative. A report was taken and the case added to a federal database.

24-001219 Communications Problem 12:57:58 03/01/24
A Lopez resident received a phone call from an unknown suspect claiming to represent a federal law enforcement agency.

24-001223 Fraud 14:47:58 03/01/24
A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of a fraudulent phone call. The reporting party did provide information to the caller, but had not sustained a monetary loss. The reporting party began taking steps to monitor their accounts and sensitive information. A report was completed.

24-001231 Accident-NonInj 19:06:41 03/01/24
A Lopez Deputy took a report of a vehicle in the ditch. The driver was unharmed, and a report was taken.

A Lopez Deputy took a call from a subject who was upset that he was refused service at a local bar and told there was a restraining order. A report was taken.

SATURDAY, MARCH 2
24-001235 Burglary,NonRes 01:53:29 03/02/24
Deputies on San Juan Island responded to a report of an in-progress burglary in Friday Harbor. The suspect was located and was booked into the San Juan County Jail for burglary in the second degree, malicious mischief in the second degree, and theft in the third degree. A report was completed.

24-001244 Animal at Large 13:52:25 03/02/24
A Lopez Deputy found a dog without tags roaming the ferry terminal. Lopez community members assisted in locating the owner a short time later.

24-001245 Accident-HitRun 14:53:08 03/02/24
A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of a hit and run with damage to a vehicle. The reporting party wasn’t entirely sure what day it happened or exactly where it happened. A report was completed.

TUESDAY, MARCH 5
24-001287 Trespassing 16:22:48 03/05/24
Deputies on San Juan Island responded to a report of trespassing. Two individuals were trespassed from multiple properties in Friday Harbor. A report was completed.
