24-001051 Found Property 12:02:24 02/21/24
A bone found on False Bay was turned into the Sheriff’s Office. The bone appears to be of animal origins, but is being sent to the state anthropologist for positive identification.
24-001052 Accident-HitRun 12:52:19 02/21/24
A Deputy took a report of a hit and run vehicle collision. No injuries resulted from the collision, but the fleeing driver failed to stop and contact the driver of the other vehicle. The case is under further investigation.
24-001059 Citizen Assist 18:07:50 02/21/24
A Lopez Deputy responded to a report of an incident at the dump that occurred several months prior to the time of reporting. The incident was documented.
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 22
24-001080 Accident-Injury, Traffic 16:44:12 02/22/24
A Deputy responded to a single vehicle collision on Orcas Island. There was minimal damage to the vehicle and no persons in the vehicle were injured. The vehicle was recovered and was able to drive away from the scene.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 23
24-001089 Vehicle Theft 07:31:05 02/23/24
A Lopez Deputy responded to a possible auto theft. The matter will be handled as a civil issue between the two parties.
24-001092 Accident-Injury, Traffic 08:22:27 02/23/24
A San Juan Deputy responded to a 2-car collision with injuries. The drivers did not exhibit signs of impairment; both were transported to PIMC for evaluation. One driver was issued an infraction for improper lane usage.
24-001098 Theft 13:24:53 02/23/24
A Lopez Deputy responded to a theft call. Several large pieces of lumber were stolen from a property on Burt Road. A report was taken.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 24
24-001115 Harassment 12:39:34 02/24/24
A person reported alleged harassment from a former neighbor. No crime occurred, civil remedies were suggested.
24-001123 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 22:08:44 02/24/24
A Deputy responded to a reported suspicious person near a business in Eastsound. It was discovered the subject was impaired and had court ordered conditions to not be consuming alcohol. A report will be forwarded to the subjects probation officer.
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 26
24-001137 Communications Problem 11:14:07 02/26/24
A Lopez Deputy was contacted regarding unwelcome contact from a past acquaintance. A renewal of a prior no contact order via the courts was suggested.
24-001139 Welfare Check 11:58:28 02/26/24
A Deputy on Orcas responded to a welfare check. The person was found deceased in their home. After an investigation was completed, it was found to be an unattended death with no known suspicious circumstances. Family was notified and a report was taken.
24-001140 Juvenile Problem 13:49:01 02/26/24
A Deputy was dispatched to a Juvenile Problem. The case is ongoing.
24-001142 Agency Assistance 14:09:17 02/26/24
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to an agency assist. The subject was provided with information regarding the obtainment of eviction anti-harassment orders.
24-001143 Citizen Assist 14:39:48 02/26/24
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a civil issue. The complainant was provided with information regarding the obtainment of an anti-harassment order.
24-001146 Animal at Large 19:06:10 02/26/24
A Deputy on San Juan responded to a report of a dog at large and the dog was barking. The owner had previously been issued a dog at large warning letter and informed of the noise ordinance. The Deputy completed two infractions for the owner, dog at large and noise ordinance. Report completed.
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 27
24-001153 Fraud 11:04:36 02/27/24
A Deputy on Orcas was dispatched to a possible Fraud call. The victim was contacted and will meet with Deputies when they return to the island.
24-001167 Wanted Person 20:04:00 02/27/24
A Deputy on San Juan Island contacted a resident who had a warrant for his arrest. The person was taken into custody and was booked into the San Juan County Jail for the warrant.
