A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a hit and run with property damage near Roche Harbor. Upon investigation, the registered owner of the vehicle was located and contacted. A report was completed.
22-001053 Animal at Large 08:17:57 02/16/22
A Lopez Deputy responded to a cow that had escaped from its pasture. The cow was unable to walk itself home, being sick, old, and having unhealthy rear legs. Per the owner’s request, the cow was put down to rest.
22-001056 Wanted Person 12:53:33 02/16/22
A Deputy checked a location for a person wanted on an active warrant issued out of San Juan County District Court. The person was found to not be at the location. Follow up will be conducted later in an attempt to locate the wanted person. Report made.

A Deputy on San Juan Island took a delayed report of property damage to a residence caused by a delivery truck. A report was completed.

An Orcas Island Deputy investigated a vandalism on the 40 block of Quarry Lane. A report was authored and forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.

A boat in Fisherman Bay was in danger of sinking due to a mooring line issue. Good Samaritans fixed the problem.
22-001081 Unwanted Person 14:19:23 02/17/22
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of an unwanted person. A homeowner found a person in their residence in violation of an agreement between the two. The person left; the homeowner singed a trespass letter barring the person from the residence indefinitely. Trespass letter served. Report made.

A Lopez Deputy was contacted regarding trespassing on the privately owned portion of the Otis Perkins beach and tidelands.

A Deputy on Orcas Island issued a ticket for violation of San Juan County Code 10.28.010 – Mooring at a Public Landing.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 19

An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a single vehicle roll over crash on the 1400 block of Olga Rd. The driver of the vehicle was later arrested for DUI and a report was forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.

An Orcas Island Deputy responded to the Orcas Hotel 18 Orcas Hill Rd for a theft investigation. A report was authored, and the investigation is ongoing.
22-001127 Accident-Injury, Traffic 07:34:06 02/20/22
A Lopez Deputy responded to a non-injury accident. The driver was found to have driven off a private road and their vehicle was stuck in the mud. No crime committed, and the vehicle was pulled out.
22-001134 Abandoned Vehicle 14:02:28 02/20/22
An Orcas Island Deputy assisted a citizen with 2 junk vehicle affidavits.
22-001139 Burn Investigation 16:11:46 02/20/22
Deputies on San Juan Island responded to a report of illegal burning in a parking lot. The person was located and the fire was extinguished.
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 21
22-001145 Found Property 13:20:26 02/21/22
A Deputy on San Juan Island took possession of a found lost cell phone. The cell phone was entered into the evidence system as there was no identifying information found to return it to its owner. Report made.
22-001147 Fraud 15:10:17 02/21/22
A Deputy on San Juan Island contacted a citizen and took a report of fraudulent activity on multiple accounts. There is no suspect information and there are no workable leads currently. A report was completed.

22-001174 Trespassing 12:14:34 02/22/22
An Orcas Island Deputy arrested a subject for trespassing in the Island Market. The subject was booked in jail for the violation and a report was forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of mail theft. An investigation is ongoing. A report was completed.
22-001177 Theft 12:36:14 02/22/22
A Lopez Deputy responded to a theft call. A roofer on Lopez was shorted supplies by a hardware company from the mainland. A report was taken and the matter was determined to be civil.
22-001178 Traffic Hazard 13:03:08 02/22/22
A Lopez Deputy assisted Public Works by directing traffic while they loaded roadside tree branches.
22-001185 Alarm 16:00:49 02/22/22
Lopez Deputy responded to an alarm call. A new employee at the Family Resource Center mistakenly pressed the panic alarm button while learning about the building. They now know where it is located and its function.
