A Deputy responded to a Lopez Island residence on for a firearms complaint. It was determined a woman pointed a loaded gun at her ex-husband. The Deputy took the perpetrator into custody for a mental health evaluation. An investigation is being conducted for Assault 2nd Degree-Domestic Violence.

A Deputy was dispatched to a welfare check in Friday Harbor. Subject involved was later transported to a medical facility for further evaluation.

A Deputy responded to call where an airplane had landed without deploying their landing gear at the Orcas Airport. There were no injuries and the plane had little damage.

A deputy investigated a report of a controlled substance violation by a juvenile in Friday Harbor. The juvenile was reportedly giving marijuana out to other juveniles and encouraging them to smoke. Investigation continues
17-000902 Controlled Substance Problem 18:35:30 02/17/17
Deputies responded to a home where parents had found marijuana and empty alcohol containers in their son’s bedroom. The items were photographed and taken as evidence and a report forwarded to juvenile services.

A SJC Deputy located a found item on Orcas Road. No one has come to claim the item. The item has been secured in the property room for safekeeping.
17-000922 Missing Person 20:58:04 02/18/17
Lopez deputies were dispatched for an overdue swimmer in San Juan Channel. The swimmer, a Lopez woman was found safe at home.

The reporting deputy was contacted in reference to a Vehicle Prowl which occurred in the Friday Harbor area. The victim reported a radio was taken from a parked vehicle the previous night. Investigation continues

A Lopez Island woman reported that she had loaned her car to a friend who had failed to return it at agreed. Deputies located the car and reunited it with its owner. No crime had been committed.
17-000946 Recovered Stolen Property 15:41:10 02/20/17
A SJC Deputy recovered several items reported as stolen in connection with previous cases. Several of the items have been returned to their owners. Some items have yet to be identified as stolen or missing.
17-000953 Wanted Person 22:16:20 02/20/17
A Deputy in Friday Harbor contacted a person that had an outstanding warrant out of San Juan County District Court. The person was arrested for the warrant and was booked into the jail.

A Deputy was dispatched to found drug paraphernalia in Friday Harbor. The Deputy retrieved the items and destroyed them at the Sheriff’s Office.
17-000958 Animal at Large 10:50:58 02/21/17
A Lopez Island deputy was called regarding 5 sheep and 2 horses running at large near the school. The owner of the animals was identified and the animals were returned home.
17-000965 Animal at Large 13:42:22 02/21/17
A Lopez Island deputy was called regarding a bull running at large. The bull was located and the owner identified. The owner arrived on scene to take care of the animal.
