23-000691 Welfare Check 09:46:24 02/01/23 
Deputies responded to a report of a suicidal individual on the west side of San Juan Island. The report was unfounded.

23-000705 Assault – Aggravated 16:46:51 02/01/23  
Deputies responded to a reported assault with a vehicle involving a vehicle and a Washington State Ferry crew member. It was not believed that the driver intended to cause harm to the worker. The driver was cited with a criminal cite for failing to obey a flagger.

23-000706 Found Property 16:57:43 02/01/23  
A Deputy on San Juan Island took custody of a silver men’s ring that was found in Friday Harbor near Wells Fargo Bank. The ring was submitted into evidence as found property. A report was completed.

23-000708 Trouble Unknown 17:42:38 02/01/23 
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to 911 hang up at the hospital. The call was placed by a patient, who wanted to report items that were possibly stolen. A report was completed.

23-000709 Burglary – Residential 20:49:26 02/01/23  
A Deputy responded to a reported burglary in progress on Orcas Island. Further investigation revealed that it was likely the caller was experiencing a mental health crisis, and no evidence suggested any persons were actively trying to break into her home.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 2
23-000722 Accident-HitRun 14:15:35 02/02/23 
An Orcas Deputy responded to a report of a hit and run traffic collision. An investigation was conducted and a report written.

23-000723 Fraud 15:03:00 02/02/23 
A Deputy was contacted about a Fraud in the Friday Harbor area. The person had received a check from someone on the internet which was placed into their account. The person then sent part of the money back to sender. The money in the account was then removed. Report taken.

23-000726 Citizen Assist 15:59:25 02/02/23 
A Deputy assisted a citizen regarding a landlord tenant issue that was occurring on Lopez Island.

23-000737 Trespassing 20:55:36 02/02/23 
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of trespassing. A trespass warning notice was completed and will be served to the trespasser when located.

23-000739 Welfare Check 22:27:44 02/02/23
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a welfare check. An individual was placed into protective custody and transported to the hospital for evaluation.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 3
23-000741 Welfare Check 05:54:13 02/03/23
A Deputy was dispatched to a Welfare Check in the Friday Harbor area. The person was contacted and given a ride home. Information report taken.

23-000748 Abandoned Vehicle 10:37:19 02/03/23
A Lopez resident reported a vehicle that was abandoned on private property. The owner was located a short time later and the car was moved.

23-000750 Theft 11:15:11 02/03/23
A contractor on Lopez reported the theft of electrical equipment from a job site.

23-000749 Death Investigation 11:17:16 02/03/23
A local hospice group contacted a Lopez Deputy regarding a recent death. The incident was screened with the Coroner, no investigation was required.

23-000754 Fraud 12:15:30 02/03/23
A San Juan Deputy took a report of fraud. The victim reported that they had suffered no loss and their accounts had been secured. No suspect information exists at this time. A report was generated.

23-000755 Controlled Substance Problem 12:28:02 02/03/23
Lopez Deputy responded to a drugs call. An administrator at the school confiscated a plastic tube containing marijuana from a student. A referral was made to juvenile services.

23-000759 Unconscious ALS 14:05:24 02/03/23
Deputies on San Juan Island were dispatched to an unconscious person. Upon arrival the person appeared to be deceased due to suicide.

23-000760 Theft 15:02:06 02/03/23
A San Juan Deputy took a report of theft. The reporting party had no evidence to identify a suspect.

23-000761 Civil Problem 15:10:57 02/03/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island was dispatched to a walk in report of harassment. A statement was taken and a report was filed.

23-000762 Traffic Hazard 15:45:20 02/03/23
A Lopez Deputy directed traffic while public works cleared a tree that was blown into a telephone line during the high winds.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 4
23-000771 Mental Health 06:05:12 02/04/23
A Deputy responded to a Mental Health Issue in the San Juan Island area. The Deputy arrived and contacted all the people involved. The situation was calm and the Deputy offered several resources but was declined. Informational report taken.

23-000776 Missing Person 14:22:16 02/04/23
A Deputy was contacted in reference to a Missing Person. The person had left the island last month and has not been heard from since. Report taken.

23-000777 Accident-NonInj 14:47:57 02/04/23
A Deputy on Orcas responded to an accident non-injury in Eastsound. The driver had misjudged their turn and was stuck in a ditch. Orcas Towing was called and helped the driver and vehicle back on the roadway.

23-000778 Threats 15:06:19 02/04/23
Lopez resident called to advise an ex-spouse who is exhibiting unstable behavior might return to the county. No crime has occurred at this time.

23-000779 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 15:24:43 02/04/23
A Deputy on Orcas responded to a suspicious call in Eastsound. After an investigation was completed a report was written.

23-000780 Threats 16:04:11 02/04/23
A Deputy on Orcas took a possible threats call. The reporting party only wanted an informational report taken in case anything were to happen in the future.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 5
23-000791 Death Investigation 12:38:45 02/05/23
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to Waldron Island to assist with a death investigation.

23-000795 Disorderly Conduct 13:29:35 02/05/23
A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a disorderly conduct complaint at the ferry terminal. An informational report was taken.

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6
23-000812 Harassment 09:55:21 02/06/23
A report of harassment was made to the Sheriff’s Office. Reporting party was advised to retain an anti-harassment order at this time. No crime found.

23-000825 Court Order Violation 17:29:29 02/06/23
A Deputy received a report of an order violation. It was unclear if the order had been served and after investigation it was determined that it had. The case was referred to the prosecutors office for charges.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 7
23-000835 Juvenile Problem 08:51:31 02/07/23
A Deputy responded to the Friday Harbor middle school on a report of a student who had a pocketknife removed from them. The family was apprised of the situation.

23-000837 Trespassing 10:06:48 02/07/23
A Deputy on Orcas responded to a trespassing complaint in Eastsound. The property owner signed a Trespass Warning Letter and the suspect was located and signed the letter acknowledging not to go back on the properties.

23-000839 Vicious Animal 10:43:42 02/07/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of an animal problem. It was reported that a dog came out after a citizen who was walking their dog down a roadway.

23-000852 Citizen Assist 20:20:49 02/07/23
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a complaint regarding an alleged domestic altercation. There was insufficient probable cause to believe a crime had been committed. The Deputy completed an informational report.

23-000854 Trespassing 01:27:37 02/08/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of possible trespassing at an unoccupied residence. Further investigation of the property will be conducted. A report was completed.
