A Detective on San Juan Island responded to an agency assist. The incident was investigated and found no probable cause for a crime. The incident was documented.

A San Juan Deputy assisted a person in completing a trespass warning letter barring a person from their property.

24-007719 Boating Problem 14:01:13 12/04/24
Lopez Deputies and US Coast Guard responded to a report of a vessel taking on water in Lopez Sound. The Coast Guard towed the vessel safely to Anacortes.

24-007729 Accident-Injury, Traffic 18:08:07 12/04/24
Deputies on San Juan Island received a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision. The two pedestrians had apparent minor injuries. The driver was cited for failing to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 5

An Orcas Island Deputy took a report regarding a landlord / tenant dispute and unwanted behavior on the part of the landlord. No crime was committed. An incident report was authored to document the event.

24-007747 Unwanted Person 11:25:32 12/05/24
A Deputy was contacted by a local business about a Trespassing. The business wished to trespass a person from the business. A Trespass Warning Letter was completed and served to the person. Report taken.

Lopez Deputies responded to a report of an individual inflicting self-harm with a machete. The individual spoke to a crisis responder on the phone and set up a safety plan. Mental health resources were provided.

A Lopez resident reported what they believed was a criminal harassment situation involving their HOA. This situation is civil, no law enforcement action is required or necessary.

An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a call of a non-injury, motor vehicle hit and run, in the parking lot of a local business. The incident was documented.

A citizen came to the jail to turn himself in on a warrants that he had. The person was booked into the jail on the warrants.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of suspicious activity. The incident was investigated and no criminal activity was noted.

24-007765 Accident-NonInj 23:39:16 12/05/24
A San Juan Deputy heard a vehicle speeding followed by the sound of a collision. The Deputy located the vehicle, which struck a tree on Guard St. The driver ran from the Deputy, but was apprehended and booked into jail for DUI, Reckless Driving, and Obstructing.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6
24-007777 Citizen Assist 13:00:29 12/06/24
A Deputy was contacted about turning over a firearm for destruction. The person was advised they could turn in the firearm to the Sheriff’s Office. The person later turned in the firearm for destruction. Report taken.

24-007778 Theft 13:09:43 12/06/24
An Orcas Island Deputy investigated a theft at Banner Bank. A bank patron dropped an envelope containing $200.00 on the floor of the bank. Another unidentified bank patron picked the envelope up placed it into their pocket and left the bank without turning the money in to bank employees.

24-007790 Assault – Body Force 23:09:04 12/06/24
San Juan Deputies responded to a fight with sustained injuries at a local business. Investigation revealed that all involved parties were equal participants in the escalation of the incident. The injury was an accident.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 9
24-007817 Harassment 12:58:19 12/09/24
A Deputy on Orcas was dispatched to a harassment complaint. The complaint was deemed to be civil in nature.

24-007822 Threats 16:26:52 12/09/24
A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report from a reporting party who wanted to remain anonymous. The reporting party wanted to report threatening things that her neighbor was saying. A report was completed.

24-007827 Theft 18:34:01 12/09/24
A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of theft from a store in Friday Harbor. The business wished to trespass the individual for 2 years instead of pursuing the matter criminally. A report was completed.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 10
24-007832 Controlled Substance Problem 08:35:20 12/10/24
Peace Island Hospital reported drugs were found on an individual who had been transported to the ER. The drugs were taken and transported to the property and evidence room and booked in.

A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a Threats call. An investigation was conducted, and the incident was documented.
