22-009122 Disorderly Conduct 01:17:45 12/28/22
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a suicide attempt. An individual used methamphetamine and was in a state of rage when their family subdued them. There was no evidence of a crime and the incident was documented after the individual was examined by EMS.

22-009125 Vehicle Theft 07:52:32 12/28/22
A San Juan Deputy took a report of a stolen vehicle. The reporting party advised that they had left their keys in their unlocked vehicle overnight and woke to find it had been stolen. The vehicle was added to the statewide database.

22-009132 Malicious Mischief 11:19:57 12/28/22
A San Juan Deputy took a report of vandalism. The reporting party advised they found urine on the passenger seat of their vehicle that had been unlocked overnight. No suspect was positively identified.

22-009134 Found Property 11:54:04 12/28/22
An Orcas citizen turned in some keys she found on the roadway between the Island Market and the Community Church. The keys were booked into the property room at the Orcas Substation.

22-009142 Theft 14:28:08 12/28/22
An Orcas Island Deputy investigated a theft at NAPA auto parts. A subject who entered the business and stole approximately $64.00 worth of goods was identified and located. When confronted with the theft the subject agreed to return to the business and pay for the stolen item.

22-009144 Animal Bite 14:43:54 12/28/22
A San Juan Deputy responded to a third-party report of a dog bite. They called the reporting party while enroute to a high-priority call. The call was not answered so the Deputy left a voice message that was not returned. No injury occurred from the bite and no involved party was able to be identified.

22-009155 Domestic Dispute or Assault 21:51:36 12/28/22
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a domestic. The incident was found to not be domestic in nature and a report was made.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 29
22-009168 Attempted Suicide 12:24:05 12/29/22
A Deputy was dispatched to a Suicide Attempt in the San Juan Island area. The Deputy arrived and assisted another agency. One person was taken for evaluation. Report taken.

22-009174 Citizen Assist 15:58:04 12/29/22
An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a citizen assist request. The reporting party wanted to report a subject known to him allegedly accosted him in the parking lot of Island Market. It was determined no crime was committed. An incident report was authored.

22-009175 Unconscious 16:17:50 12/29/22
A Deputy was dispatched to an Unconscious Person in the Friday Harbor area. The Deputy arrived and assisted San Juan Aid. Report taken.

22-009177 Unwanted Person 19:08:32 12/29/22
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of an unwanted person. The individual was issued a trespass notice but continued to refuse to leave the premises. The individual was arrested and booked for criminal trespass second degree.

22-009178 Mental Health 21:17:09 12/29/22
San Juan Deputies responded to PIMC to assist hospital staff with an unruly patient. Due to recent changes in use of force laws, Deputies were unable to intervene until hospital staff were injured. 2 counts of felony assault were forwarded to the Prosecutor for charging.

San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a mental health issue. Two individuals were contacted and the incident was documented.

22-009183 Civil Problem 09:30:07 12/30/22
A Lopez resident reported possible fraud regarding an online purchase. A courtesy report was completed.

22-009184 Burglary,NonRes 09:39:34 12/30/22
A Deputy was dispatched to a Burglary in the Friday Harbor area. The Deputy arrived and spoke with the caller. The business’s back door was found open but there has been issues with the lock. Nothing appeared to have been taken and no one was located inside the business. Report taken.

A Lopez resident reported damage to deer fencing. A report was completed.

22-009186 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 13:30:27 12/30/22
An Orcas Deputy received information from a local establishment that they had received a suspicious telephone call. A report was written.

22-009190 Found Property 15:23:24 12/30/22
An Orcas Island citizen turned in a key that was found on the pathway near OPALCO. The item was booked into the property room at the Orcas Substation.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 31
22-009225 Traffic Hazard 20:35:12 12/31/22
San Juan Deputy observed an unoccupied vehicle blocking a roadway. The Deputy called the owner, who admitted to driving intoxicated and crashing. The Deputy asked where the owner was but they hung up. The Deputy searched for the owner but was unsuccessful. Multiple infractions were mailed.

22-009227 DUI 21:02:11 12/31/22
A local tow truck driver was impounding a suspected drunk driver’s vehicle when another suspected drunk driver nearly struck the tow truck operator. The Deputy on scene attempted to catch the vehicle, which left the area at a high rate of speed, but was unable to locate it.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 1
23-000002 Domestic Dispute or Assault 00:50:02 01/01/23
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a domestic. It was verbal in nature as one half left the other in town after partying. The driver admitted to driving drunk and several empty cans of beer were observed in the vehicle but probable cause could not be developed for DUI.

23-000003 DUI 01:38:28 01/01/23
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a report of a person passed-out in a running vehicle. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs and operating a motor vehicle without an ignition interlock device, when required.

23-000016 DUI 19:58:23 01/01/23
A San Juan Island Deputies responded to a two-vehicle collision. A driver suddenly reversed on the road, causing a collision. The suspect driver left on foot. The driver was located, arrested and booked into jail for hit and run of an attended vehicle and criminal solicitation. A report was completed.

MONDAY, JANUARY 2
23-000023 Theft 14:08:43 01/02/23
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a theft complaint. The suspect was identified and arrested for theft in the third degree. The stolen items were recovered and returned to the owner.

23-000029 Boating Problem 16:35:18 01/02/23
Deputies on Lopez Island along with Lopez Island Fire joined several good Samaritan citizens that were attempting to keep a boat from sinking in Fisherman Bay. The boat was nearly fully submerged and after several hours the vessel was able to be saved. The owner was eventually contacted.

A Deputy on San Juan Island served a court order to a respondent via electronic service, as permitted by the court. A report was completed.

TUESDAY, JANUARY 3
23-000044 Boating Problem 13:53:46 01/03/23
A Deputy on Lopez Island was dispatched to a report of a boat that had washed up on a beach. The boat was secured to a dock but no identifying information could be found to locate an owner.

23-000050 Trouble Unknown 22:13:07 01/03/23
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a male “being ridiculous.” The Deputy contacted the person who was intoxicated and upset with their significant other and the choices they were making. The individual went home for the night, and the other half was home safe. A report was completed.
