A Detective responded to a report of lost property on Orcas Island. The item was retrieved and entered into evidence for the owner to claim.

24-008183 Citizen Assist 07:59:43 12/25/24
An Orcas Island Deputy was contacted regarding a Citizen Assist at the Sub-Station. The incident was documented.

24-008189 Malicious Mischief 11:27:53 12/25/24
An Orcas Island Deputy was dispatched to a Mailbox Vandalism in Eastsound. An investigation was conducted and later an individual was cited and released for Hit & Run Unattended Property. The incident was documented.

San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a non-injury collision. The incident was documented.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 26
24-008208 Unwanted Person 10:17:31 12/26/24
A Deputy was dispatched to a Trespass in the Friday Harbor area. The person was requesting a Trespass Warning Letter be issued. A Trespass Warning Letter was prepared and signed. The trespassed person was served the letter. Report taken.

An Orcas Island Deputy served a local transient with a no trespass warning letter for a local business.

24-008211 Theft 11:10:07 12/26/24
A Deputy was contacted about a Theft in the San Juan Island area. The person was reporting that at least three packages had not been received after being told the packages had been delivered. Report taken.

24-008212 Unwanted Person 11:13:38 12/26/24
A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to an unwanted person. The individual was contacted and issued a trespass warning letter for the property. The incident was documented.

24-008217 Agency Assistance 16:39:42 12/26/24
A San Juan Deputy received a request to assist Adult Protective Services. The request was found to already be under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.

A San Juan Island Deputy received a lost phone from a business. Unsuccessful attempts were made to locate the owner. The phone was placed in the property room.

A San Juan Island Deputy responded to a harassment call. This was a civil matter, and the individual was provided resources for Safe San Juans.

24-008222 Citizen Dispute 20:34:57 12/26/24
San Juan Island Deputies respond to a dispute between roommates. No crime was committed, Safe San Juans pamphlets were given to both parties, and the incident was documented.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Trespass in the Friday Harbor area. The business was requesting a person be issued a Trespass Warning Letter. The letter was signed by the business and served on the person. Report taken.

Lopez Island Deputies and Lopez Island Fire & EMS were dispatched to a mental health call. Involved parties were separated and a report was taken.

24-008236 Trespassing 16:31:46 12/27/24
A San Juan Deputy respond to an individual trespassing at a business. The individual was taken into custody, cited, and released for criminal trespass in the first degree.

24-008241 Burglary – Residential 18:31:56 12/27/24
San Juan Island Deputies responded to suspicious activity at a condominium. Deputies arrested an individual for residential burglary and theft in the 2nd degree.

24-008242 Malicious Mischief 19:51:00 12/27/24
A Lopez Deputy responded to a vandalism call. An individual reported their tires being slashed in the ferry terminal parking lot. A report was taken.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 28
24-008247 Weapon Safekeeping 10:37:11 12/28/24
A Deputy was dispatched to a Safekeeping in the Friday Harbor area. The person turned over a firearm to be destroyed. The firearm was taken and entered into evidence for destruction. Report taken.

24-008250 Domestic Dispute or Assault 12:07:01 12/28/24
An off-island anonymous third party called to report a domestic disturbance incident, which was determined to be unfounded.

24-008254 Vicious Animal 14:18:06 12/28/24
San Juan Island Deputies respond to a complaint of a dog at large. The owner of the dog was issued a dog at large warning letter.

24-008255 Malicious Mischief 15:11:39 12/28/24
A Deputy was dispatched to a Malicious Mischief in the Friday Harbor area. The person reported that someone was damaging the community mailboxes. Report taken.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 29
24-008266 Citizen Assist 17:17:03 12/29/24
A Deputy on Orcas Island documented receipt of a statement form received in the mail. There was no crime committed and no further action required. The Deputy generated a case number and completed an informational report.

24-008267 Burglary – Residential 21:34:22 12/29/24
A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of a burglary. Currently there are no suspects.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 30
24-008279 Overdose 14:55:56 12/30/24
Deputies on Orcas Island responded, along with Orcas Island Fire and Rescue personnel, to a reported overdose. The subject was located and later transported to a hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 31
24-008283 Mental Health 02:26:12 12/31/24
Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a Mental Health call. The incident was documented and then referred to Compass Health and Adult Protective Services.

24-008295 Theft 14:35:34 12/31/24
A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a mail theft call. The individual who resides on the north end of the island advised that they had lost several hundred dollars’ worth of packages from their mailbox that had been delivered around Christmas.
