A Deputy on Orcas responded to an animal bite. The victim was fine and did not need stitches from a dog bite. The owner and dog were located and given a citation. The case was forwarded to the Sheriff for declaration status for the dog.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a theft at a local business. The suspect left prior to Deputy arrival. The following day, the suspect returned to the business and was issued a citation for theft in the third degree.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a juvenile problem. Nothing was criminal and the incident was documented.

A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a Suspicious Call. The incident was documented.

Deputies arrested a person for an Out of State Warrant during a different investigation. The person was transported to the Sheriff’s Office and held on the warrant. Report taken.

Deputies were dispatched to an Order Violation in the Friday Harbor area. The Deputy spoke with all the persons involved in the incident. Report taken.

A Deputy on Orcas was dispatched to a possible accident with injury in Rosario. After the driver declined medical aid an investigation was completed and as the only occupant they were arrested for DUI and processed. A report was authored.

Deputies were dispatched to a Malicious Mischief in the San Juan Island area. The person was calling to report damage to a motorized gate. Report taken.
24-005479 Accident-Injury, Traffic 09:08:07 08/23/24
The Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported injury two vehicle collision in Eastsound. The at fault driver failed to yield the right of way to another vehicle and collided. Both drivers were issued infractions for not wearing seat belts and the at fault driver for failing to yield right of way.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a civil call. A commuter who frequents the ferry from Lopez Island reported a local elderly farm owner was harassing them and making racially charged comments. An anti-harassment order was filed.

Lopez Deputies contacted two men suspected of crab pot theft. No probable cause was established. A report was completed.
24-005528 Domestic Dispute or Assault 19:50:11 08/24/24
A San Juan Deputy took a report of a cold domestic assault. The suspect had left the county and the victim was in a safe location. The case was forwarded to the prosecutor for charging.

A Lopez homeowners association called regarding misuse of HOA property. Civil litigation is pending, and the service of paperwork or a standby to assure the peace was offered.

A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of a political sign theft. The individual was contacted the next day and was found to be in possession of the sign and admitted to taking it. A criminal citation was issued and the sign was recovered. A report was complete.

A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to an Unwanted Person. The incident was documented.
24-005575 Accident-Injury, Traffic 15:22:58 08/27/24
A Lopez Island Deputy & Lopez Island Fire & EMS were dispatched to an Accident-Injury of a Bicyclist. The cyclist had minor cuts and scrapes and did not need further EMS treatment. The incident was documented.

Lopez Deputies responded when a citizen walk into a bank and told
bank staff that he was feeling homicidal. The citizen later explained to the
Deputies that it was a misunderstood joke.

Deputies on San Juan Island responded to a report of a single vehicle collision. One occupant was rescued from next to the vehicle. The driver was unfortunately found to be deceased. The San Juan County Coroner responded and a report was completed.
