WEDNESDAY, APRIL 26
23-002858 Juvenile Problem 06:08:32 04/26/23
A Deputy on Orcas responded to a juvenile problem. No crime had been committed. An informational report was taken.

23-002859 Accident-NonInj 06:35:37 04/26/23
A Deputy responded to a reported vehicle collision on Orcas. It appeared the driver may have fallen asleep or driving while fatigued. No injuries resulted and no other damage occurred other than the drivers vehicle. A collision report was completed.

23-002863 Found Property 08:47:58 04/26/23
A Deputy on San Juan island received a walk in report of found property. The Deputy was given a large garbage bag that contained personal belongings and some old rotten food. The bag was booked into evidence as found property and the rotten food was disposed of.

23-002871 Threats 12:15:24 04/26/23
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of threats. The reporting party did not wish to pursue charges, but did want the incident to be documented. They wrote statements and the Deputy completed a report.

23-002882 Animal Noise 17:15:35 04/26/23
A Deputy on San Juan responded to an animal noise call. The reporting party explained that a neighbor’s dog gets out of its yard and always barks. The dog owner was contacted and knew about their dog getting out that day. The owner was issued a dog at large letter. A report was completed.

23-002886 Wanted Person 18:30:55 04/26/23
Deputies on San Juan Island located an individual for whom the court had issued 11 warrants for their arrest. The individual was taken into custody under the authority of the warrants and was booked into the San Juan County Jail. They were also given a warning for possessing a controlled substance.

THURSDAY, APRIL 27
23-002891 Parking Problem 09:44:00 04/27/23
An Orcas Island Deputy towed an abandoned vehicle from the 300 block of Crescent Beach Road.

23-002896 Theft 12:32:33 04/27/23
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of theft, but the suspect was not located. The following day they were taken into custody having been found to have stolen from three stores; only one wished to pursue charges. The suspect was charged with theft 3rd and trespassed from all store locations.

23-002903 Vicious Animal 18:46:11 04/27/23
A Deputy responded to a report of a dog attacking another dog on Orcas. After an investigation, the owner of the aggressing dog was issued a public nuisance dog citation. The other dog did not appear to be badly injured in the struggle.

FRIDAY, APRIL 28
23-002933 DUI 19:55:26 04/28/23
A San Juan Deputy stopped a vehicle as the title had not been transferred. The driver was arrested and booked for felony DUI, assault 3rd degree, obstructing a law enforcement officer, and DWLS 3rd degree.

23-002934 Domestic Dispute or Assault 22:12:00 04/28/23
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a domestic with shots fired. A female was arrested for assault 1 – DV, resisting arrest, obstructing a law enforcement officer and reckless endangerment for firing multiple rounds indiscriminately during an argument.

SATURDAY, APRIL 29
23-002937 Bleeding ALS 03:03:24 04/29/23
A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a bleeding ALS call with Lopez Island Fire & EMS. It was determined that the individual had passed away from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The county coroner was contacted, and the individual was transported to the temporary morgue.

23-002938 Assault – Body Force 07:43:31 04/29/23
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to an assault call. There was insufficient evidence an assault had occurred. The Deputy provided suggestions for assistance and assisted in exchanging some of personal property.

23-002949 Malicious Mischief 14:31:01 04/29/23
A Lopez resident reported possible damage to his vehicle. There is no evidence at this time. A courtesy report was completed.

SUNDAY, APRIL 30
23-002972 Trespassing 10:25:12 04/30/23
A local business asked to have someone trespassed. The person was served with a trespass warning letter.

23-002979 Found Property 16:42:37 04/30/23
A citizen left a found power tool outside the front door of the Orcas Substation. The tool was booked into the evidence room.

23-002984 Controlled Substance Problem 21:29:01 04/30/23
Deputies on San Juan Island saw jail cell safety camera footage of an in-custody individual giving another in-custody individual their medication. The individual admitted to sharing their medication. A probable cause statement was written and sent to the prosecutors’ office for review.

MONDAY, MAY 1
23-002998 Theft 14:25:33 05/01/23
A Deputy on Orcas responded to a theft call at Island Market. After an investigation was completed the suspect was arrested for Theft in the third degree.

23-003007 Found Property 18:15:38 05/01/23
A Deputy on San Juan responded to a report of found property. A citizen found a debit card in Friday Harbor and turned it into the Sheriff’s Office. The Deputy attempted to contact the owner multiple times, all attempts were unsuccessful. Their card was entered into evidence as found property.

TUESDAY, MAY 2
23-003013 Vicious Animal 08:36:24 05/02/23
A recurring dog at large problem resulted in a San Juan Island resident given a dog at large infraction, after receiving a dog at large letter.

23-003030 Civil Problem 17:03:53 05/02/23
Lopez Island Deputies were dispatched to a civil call. The parties were separated, and it was determined that no crime had been committed. An info report was taken.
