Adult Protective Services forwarded the Sheriff’s Office a case that is currently under investigation.

THURSDAY, APRIL 17
25-002134 Citizen Assist 08:28:35 04/17/25
A Deputy was contacted about Illegal Dumping. The person reported finding trash dumped on their property. Investigation continues.

25-002139 Threats 11:48:36 04/17/25
A Deputy on Orcas received a report of threats. The complaint appeared to be civil in nature.

25-002141 Animal at Large 12:51:39 04/17/25
A Deputy on Orcas Island was dispatched for a dog at large report. A report was taken.

25-002143 Harassment 14:41:36 04/17/25
An Orcas Island Deputy authored a report to help a citizen document harassment that they were experiencing. The harassment was a civil matter which the Deputy explained how to seek relief through the San Juan County Superior Court.

25-002146 Malicious Mischief 17:43:37 04/17/25
An Orcas Island Deputy authored a report to help a citizen document suspicious behavior that they were experiencing. The Deputy explained that the suspicious behavior was a civil matter at this point in time.

25-002147 Found Property 17:46:00 04/17/25
A citizen turned in some jewelry that they had found at a public restroom on San Juan Island. It is unknown who the jewelry belongs to. The Deputy took the jewelry and booked it into evidence for safekeeping.

25-002149 Accident-NonInj 18:05:30 04/17/25
An Orcas Island Deputy along with Orcas Island Fire and Rescue responded to a vehicle collision near the Killebrew area. An investigation into the collision revealed that the driver was a new driver not experienced on how to operate a manual transmission vehicle. The driver sustained minor injuries.

25-002158 Disorderly Conduct 23:16:51 04/17/25
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of disorderly conduct. One person was arrested for harassment and was booked into jail.

FRIDAY, APRIL 18
25-002160 Harassment 09:32:27 04/18/25
An incident of harassment was reported to have occurred at the Lopez gas pumps. The involved party was identified. No crime appears to have occurred at this time.

25-002166 Accident-NonInj 13:11:00 04/18/25
A Deputy was dispatched to a Traffic Accident in the Friday Harbor area. The Deputy arrived and contacted the people involved. One driver was issued an infraction for Operating a Motor Vehicle w/o insurance. Report taken.

25-002172 Theft 15:16:18 04/18/25
An Orcas Island Deputy helped a local business owner with trespassing an individual for theft. The business owner will arrange a meeting with this individual at a later time. The incident was documented.

25-002173 Agency Assistance 16:19:13 04/18/25
King County Sheriff’s Office contacted San Juan County Sheriff’s Office regarding a serious dog attack perpetrated by a dog residing in our county. The receiving Deputy authored a report. The report was forwarded to the animal control authority.

25-002181 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 21:56:47 04/18/25
Orcas Island Deputies apprehended two fugitives with the help of a local citizen watching their neighborhood for suspicious activity. The fugitives were placed into custody of the Sheriff’s Office without incident and then transported to Friday Harbor for booking.

SATURDAY, APRIL 19
25-002205 Traffic Violation 17:32:16 04/19/25
A San Juan Deputy stopped a vehicle for expired registration from 2022. The driver was arrested for DUI and was booked into jail. Infractions were issued for expired registration over 2 months and no insurance.

25-002209 Boating Problem 22:07:10 04/19/25
Deputies with EMS on board Boat 1, responded to a report of a vessel that called mayday near Cattle Pass. Boat 1 assisted the US Coast Guard in the search for the boat and passengers, vessel debris was found. One person was rescued from the water, and one person was recovered from the water.

SUNDAY, APRIL 20
25-002222 Mental Health 20:02:52 04/20/25
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded with EMS to a report of female in a mental health crisis who attempted to take her own life. The female was transported to the hospital for further care. A report was completed.

MONDAY, APRIL 21
25-002227 Death Investigation 08:31:38 04/21/25
A Friday Harbor male was found deceased in his shop. An investigation into the cause of death is ongoing.

25-002240 Missing Person 14:07:21 04/21/25
A Lopez resident was reported missing. The person was entered into the appropriate databases. A report was completed.

25-002242 Found Property 18:26:46 04/21/25
A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of suspected found drugs at a family members house. The Deputy took custody of the suspected drugs and entered them into evidence for destruction. A report was completed.

A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of a lost laptop. A report was completed.
