||| FROM RON KREBS for SAN JUAN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE |||
On Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at approximately 11:45 a.m. a Lopez Island resident reported to the Sheriff’s Office they had seen a report on Facebook of a vehicle associated with stealing mail, and that they observed a vehicle they thought matched the description.
Around 1:30 p.m. the vehicle with two male occupants was seen on Ferry Road and eluded the Sheriff’s Deputy when he attempted to stop the vehicle. During the brief attempt at a stop, the occupants began throwing parcels out the window of the fleeing vehicle.
A short time later, one of the occupants was located at the Lopez Island ferry landing and taken into custody. The Sheriff’s Office is currently attempting to locate the vehicle and the second occupant.
The vehicle is identified as a mid 2000’s silver Cadillac Sedan with license plate# D40007A being driven by a white male with short blonde hair. If you see this vehicle, please call 911 and do not attempt to make contact.
