On [September 3, 2016, at 1:01 a.m.| the San Juan County dispatch received a call from a residence on San Juan Island. A Deputy was dispatch and arrived on scene approximately 20 minutes later. An adult female was found deceased inside the residence. An adult male at the residence was placed under arrest and placed in custody. He was then transported to the Peace Island Medical Center emergency room where he was seen by the emergency room staff. After being medically cleared he was then booked into the San Juan County Jail.
The Washington State Patrol Crime Scene Response Team was called to process the scene. After arriving on the 7:30 a.m. ferry, they were escorted to the residence where they began processing the crime scene.
The results of an autopsy are pending. At this time the cause of death is still under investigation and no motive is known.
