We are excited to share another positive update on the progress of our summer campus improvement projects!

Our second full day of asphalt paving concluded on Friday, bringing the total amount of asphalt delivered and placed to 667 tons of the approximately 1,400 tons needed to complete the project. Asphalt continues to arrive on island through a combination of barges and the ferry, requiring dedicated coordination throughout the process.

Temperatures are closely monitored during transportation, and the asphalt is remixed and reheated on site as needed to ensure proper placement and compaction. We are pleased to report that all compaction tests completed to date have passed, demonstrating that the paving work continues to meet project specifications.

With approximately 47% of the asphalt now in place, the campus is beginning to look very different! The newly paved areas will need time to cure before wheel stops and striping are installed on August 22 and 23. The teacher parking area across from the Milton Building has also been prepared, and is scheduled for paving next week.

Progress is taking place in other areas of campus as well. The discus and shot put area at the north end of the practice field is nearing completion, with new poles and safety netting now in place. New basketball goals were also installed under the covered play area this week in preparation for resurfacing and new striping scheduled for September.

It is exciting to see months of planning turn into visible improvements across our campus. We appreciate the hard work of our contractors and project partners, as well as the patience and support of our families, staff, and community while this work is underway.

The project remains on schedule and on budget, and we look forward to sharing additional updates as we continue making progress toward completion.

Thank you for your continued support of our schools and students!
