||| FROM RUBY DWORKIN for OUTLOOK INN |||

Overlooking Fishing Bay and the Salish Sea, New Leaf Café sits in the heart of Orcas Island in the historic Outlook Inn, welcoming visitors and locals alike to enjoy the vibrant flavors of the Pacific Northwest region. We’re excited to share news of the seasonal reopening of New Leaf Café, next Thursday, February 15.

Forbes-featured Executive Chef Andrew Martin’s curated new menus feature the flavors of spring in the San Juans, and ingredients sourced from local land and sea. The new menu’s pièce de résistance? The whole fried branzino, served with yellow rice, baby bok choy and Thai chili sauce. Other menu highlights include Dungeness crab cakes, grilled New York steak, crispy confit duck leg, French onion soup, and Outlook Inn’s famous truffle fries.

Read below for a glimpse into Chef Andrew’s vision for New Leaf’s reopening:

At New Leaf Café, we celebrate seasonality with simple ingredients, thoughtfully combined for balanced dishes. The driving force behind our menu creation is diversity in flavors and technique, which aims to create an inclusive atmosphere. Our new menus feature colorful flavors, including robust chilis for heat, rich braised dishes, and contrasting textures for balance. Whether guests seek an elevated dinner when visiting Orcas or locals are returning for another visit, there’s something for everyone.
