The Senior Center is decked out with holiday decorations, islanders’ arts and crafts and terrific raffle items in preparaion for its Annual Holiday Festival of Arts tomorrow.

The holiday fundraiser for the Center’s Senior Services will be held Saturday  from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Senior Center/County offices building near the corner of Mt. Baker and North Beach Roads.

Staff Assistant to the Senior Center Advisory Board Jane Heisinger once again has taken the helm to rent tables in the Lundeen and Multi-purpose Rooms at the Center. Hallways will also be filled with displays, raflle items refreshments (including bake sale items and hot panini sandwiches), musicians Martin Lund and Matthew Olson ‘s violin students and Festival VIPs, Santa and Mrs. Claus.

The winners of the Senior Center Raffle will take home a handmade quilt by Karen Blinn, a DeWalt Tool box, and a knitted “sheep blanket” by Magdalena Verhasselt. Raffle tickets are $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00.  They can be purchased at the Senior Center during the week and at Island Market on Saturdays.

Over 40 local artisans will sell their wares, including glass jewelry, etched glass items, soaps and lotions, wooden cutting boards and a wide variety of other items.  Admission is $1.00 or a non-perishable donation to the Food Bank.
