If you see suspected mail thieves, please call the Sheriff’s Office to make a report.

||| FROM SAN JUAN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE |||

The Sheriff’s Office has received several reports of stolen mail and packages in recent weeks. On December 11, 2025, deputies recovered over 250 pieces of suspected stolen mail from a dumpster for over 50 different addresses around San Juan Island. The deputies located the suspects and arrested them for possession of stolen mail, theft in the third degree, and possession of stolen property in the second degree.

Since their release from Sheriff’s Office custody, several other packages and pieces of mail have been reported stolen, and it is believed to be the same suspects. This investigation is ongoing we anticipate charges being filed upon completion of the investigation.

The photographed vehicles are the suspect’s and if you see them in your neighborhood and they do not belong, or you see it following delivery vehicles, please call the Sheriff’s Office to make a report.

Additionally, we would like to return this very sentimental Christmas card to the owner/recipient. If you recognize it and believe it is yours, please call our dispatch center at 360-378-4151. We are working on redelivering the stolen mail but due to the quantity, it may take some time.
