The final 2015 Salish Sea Early Music Festival performance features virtuoso concerti and chamber music for flute, strings and harpsichord by early 18th-century composers in “The Art of Modulation” on Sunday evening, June 14 at 8:30 PM at the Orcas Adventist Fellowship Church in Eastsound, with flutist Jeffrey Cohan playing the baroque one-keyed flute, Linda Melsted on baroque violin, Stephen Creswell on baroque viola, and Jonathan Oddie on harpsichord.

The program will include selections from “The Art of Modulation” by Francois Andre Danican Philidor, better known as history’s first great chess master who was world chess champion from 1747 to 1795 and the son of Louis XIV’s music librarian, along with works by Georg Philipp Telemann, Michel Blavet and others.

This fifth annual 2015 Salish Sea Early Music Festival includes six programs of 16th to 19th-century chamber music on period instruments on Orcas Island, with special guests from Berlin and Luebeck, Germany, and from around the United States and Canada.
