For those who felt the Sept. 30, 2008 auction of Rosario Resort was the end of an era, we have good news.
The Moran Mansion is open daily from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. There is a $5 daily admission charge, but locals can become a “Friend of Rosario,” (Orcas Island address required) by simply paying the $5 admission once and having unlimited access for the year.
“The idea is that we want locals bringing their visitors!” says Rosario General Manager Christopher Peacock.
The Moran mansion’s historical features, including historic photographs and furniture, stained glass windows, a “player” pipe organ, music room, and mosaic floors were on display at the recent Centennial celebration. The guest book dating from its “Opening Day” on June 21, 1909 is on display in the main foyer.
As he has in the past, Peacock performs a daily (except Sunday) music and history review at 5 p.m.
The Cascade Bay Grill and Store is open at the marina daily from 8 am – 8 pm.
