SEATTLE – The times are changing – literally. Well, at least the Anacortes/San Juan Islands ferry times.
Washington State Ferries is hosting an online open house to share information and gather feedback on proposed changes to the Anacortes/San Juan Islands sailing schedules. The open house will be online through Friday, Aug. 23.
The current seasonal sailing schedules have not been updated in 10 to 15 years, during which the Anacortes/San Juan Islands route has seen a lot of change. The outdated sailing schedules can cause ferries to be late and leads to unreliability for locals and tourists using the route. The draft schedules were developed with a community task force group of more than 20 members along with input from a variety of ferry constituents from the San Juan County Council, the San Juan Islands Visitors Bureau and each island on the route.
This schedule update is an investment in the San Juan Islands community, economy and way of life – but WSF needs public input to ensure the schedules will work for all users of the route.
