Registration for the new pediatric 23-24 COVID-19 vaccine is now open, with limited availability for children under 19 years of age. Our first clinics will be held Oct. 18 on Orcas Island and Oct. 19 on San Juan Island. Supplies will be limited in October, but we have plans to hold larger pediatric clinics in November on Lopez, Orcas, and San Juan Islands.

The 23-24 COVID-19 vaccine has been approved for children 6 months of age and older. HCS is only able to vaccinate children under 19 years old currently. To make an appointment for your child, call our main office at 360-378-4474 or go to sjccovid.com.

HCS also has pediatric influenza vaccine clinics planned in November for Lopez, Orcas, and San Juan Island schools. We will have pediatric COVID-19 vaccine available at those clinics. It is safe to receive the influenza and COVID-19 vaccines at the same time. Interested parents may sign their child(ren) up for either the influenza vaccine, the COVID-19 vaccine, or both. Registration is not required, but it is strongly encouraged. The following clinics will be available:

  • Lopez Island – Tuesday, Nov. 14, Lopez School Cafeteria, 2 to 5 p.m.
  • Orcas Island – Wednesday, Nov. 15, Orcas School Cafeteria, 3 to 6 p.m.
  • San Juan Island – Thursday, Nov. 16, Friday Harbor Middle School Commons Area, 3 to 6 p.m.

You can register online at sanjuanco.com/flu once registration opens the week of October 23. If you are having difficulty scheduling an appointment online, call our front office for assistance at 360-378-4474.

Adults with insurance who would like to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and/or the influenza vaccine, should inquire with their local pharmacy or medical provider for appointment availability. HCS hopes to be able to provide the COVID-19 vaccine to uninsured adults soon.
