The Music Advocacy Group and Orcas Choral Society invite all Orcas Island youth to register with Orcas Island Parks and Recreation for the upcoming Spring sessions for Orcas Youth Chorus (6th-12th grades) and Junior Orcas Youth Chorus (2nd-5th grades).

The groups gather weekly to sing under experienced directors. The Orcas Youth Chorus performed with Orcas Choral Society in the Spring of 2023 and is tentatively scheduled to perform with Orcas Choral Society during its May 18-19 concert.

Orcas Youth Chorus (OYC): Beginning January 17
Ages: 6th-12th grades (ages 11-18)
Meeting time: Wednesdays, 4:30 – 5:30 pm
Location: OISD Music Room
Directors: Pamela Wright and Andy Rivera
Dates: Jan. 17, 2024 through May 22, 2024

Junior Orcas Youth Chorus (JOYC): Beginning January 20
Ages: 2nd-5th grades (ages 7-10)
Meeting time: Saturday mornings, 10 – 11 am
Location: OISD Music Room
Director: Bev Leyman
Dates: Jan. 20, 2024 through May 18, 2024

Orcas Choral Society’s motto is “Sharing Music Is Our Passion.” With about 50 current members and many alumni living on the island, their passion for sharing music with Orcas Island youth is expressed in their co-sponsorship with the Music Advocacy Group of the Orcas Youth Chorus and Junior Orcas Youth Chorus. Orcas Choral Society is a 501(c) (3) organization.
