Dr. Dave Shinstrom to celebrate 20 years in health care practice on Orcas Island.

Join us for a potluck lunch to celebrate the 20-year anniversary on Orcas for Dr. Dave Shinstrom of Orcas Family Health Center.

Fried chicken is provided and you need only to bring a potluck dish.

Dr. David Shinstrom, M.D., ABFM, is a native of Kirkland, Washington whose first visit to Orcas was as a camper at Camp Orkila. After graduating from Whitman College, he attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Shinstrom’s interest in rural medicine took him to Augusta, Maine for his three-year Family Medicine Residency training. He utilized this rural training during the five years he was in private practice in Forks, Washington, after which he returned to Maine where he was the Medical Director of the Maine-Dartmouth Family Practice Residency.

Never having forgotten Orcas Island, he returned in 1993 where he has practiced family medicine ever since. During this time he has been recognized as a Clinical Instructor by the University of Washington School of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Shinstrom has been recognized as one of the highest performing clinicians by Regence Blue Shield’s Clinician Performance Project. Among his recent accolades is a Group Cooperative Award of Excellence recognizing his valuable contributions to the excellence in care delivered to Group Health patients and in promoting comprehensive and continuous care.

Come celebrate and share in these achievements!

Orcas Family Health is the only 501 C (3) charitable, non-profit, rural health center on the island. Your contributions are 100% tax deductible. The ability of OFHC to continue providing 24/7 “care for all” requires the continued generosity and support of our community, our friends, our patients, our medical staff and our board of directors.
