According to CenturyLink personnel, as of approximately 7:45 a.m. [June 13], a phone switch failure has led to a phone outage in the Olga and Doe Bay communities on Orcas Island, and Blakely Island.
911 Service has been impacted.There is no current estimate for how long repair should take. Cell phones should still be functioning in areas with coverage. Orcas Island Fire Department staff have been dispatched to Fire Stations 25 (Olga) and 27 (Doe Bay) to assist anyone who needs emergency assistance and is unable to reach 911.
