The 17th annual pet parade began, May 23rd, at the elementary school at 10 am, after an hour of judging pets of all shapes and sizes.  The entry fee was by donation and the fun began at 11 a.m., and paraded down Prune Aly to the Village Green.

It was a large turnout on the Village Green where the awards ceremony commenced. A total of 19 prizes were awarded consisting of a trophy and Pawki’s gift bags for every contestant.

Winners included Willow White with her pet frogs for an Island Original, Grayson White with his pet for the Most Aerodynamic, Henry Miller with Herman the yorkie for the Most Unique, Luca Fiosito with Marly the French Bulldog for the Best Built Pet, Vicki O’Keefe with Pugg-ranian for the Best Fed Pet, Alex Donald with his Golden Retriever for the Best Smile, Leo Miller with Eloise for Best Behaved, Tiana Tompkins with Lilly for Best Dressed, Kathy Staub with Bolt (Kirra) for Best Dog, and Chandra Pavitt with her Chinese Crested Poodle for Best Trick.

Also, The Thurmans with Honeybear for Safest Pet, Margaret Jones with Sammy the mini horse for Largest Pet, Grayson Rosenberg with Sophie for the Healthiest Pet, Tashi’s Farm for Best Group, Faith Lacroix with Lola for Cutest Pet, Aliviah Garcia with Sunny for Friendliest Pet,  April Esposito with Timber for Physically Fit Pet, Julia Bailey with Ping for Judges Choice, and last but not least Eve, Maddy, Katlyn, Mathew with Kung Fu Pug for Star of the Show.

Kung Fu Pug and his crew won for Star of the Show at the annual Pet Parade.

The event, organized by Kaleidoscope Childcare Center, ended with smiling faces as everyone dispersed amongst the annual Bite of Orcas including Kaleidoscope’s own concession stand with hot dogs, hamburgers, and snow cones. All the proceeds from this fun-filled day will go towards Kaleidoscope’s expenses.
