PeaceHealth Peace Island Medical Center earns two national honors

PeaceHealth Peace Island Medical Center in Friday Harbor has been named a 2019 Guardian of Excellence and Pinnacle of Excellence Award winner by Press Ganey.
These awards are a nationally recognized symbols of achievement in health care. Presented annually, the awards honor health care facilities who consistently achieved performance in the top five percent in patient experience of Press Ganey client health care facilities nationwide.
For a third year in a row, PeaceHealth Peace Island received The Guardian of Excellence award for Patient Experience in the Emergency Department. Patient feedback surveys consistently placed this department in the top 95th percentile or above for each reporting period during the award year. The survey captures patient responses related to communication, wait times, respect and courtesy, patient privacy and pain control.
The Pinnacle of Excellence Award honors PeaceHealth Peace Island as a top performing organization based on extraordinary achievement and consistently high levels of excellence over a three-year period.
According toMerry-Ann Keane, chief administrative officer,these awards represent an important recognition from the industry’s leader in measuring, understanding and improving the patient experience.“We feel honored to be recognized with both of these achievements,” Keane said, “Caregivers in our emergency department work collaboratively to respond to patient needs and consistently deliver safe, exceptional patient care. It’s a commitment to quality and service that we share with our community.”

PeaceHealth Peace Island’s achievements will be recognized during the general session remarks at the Press Ganey National Client & Executive Leadership Conference, Nov. 18-20, in Orlando, Florida.
